Why is there two different front axles? One clamping type and one hexed built in? I was hoping to get away from the clamping hexes all together, even for the rears.

I honestly dont know why they added the clamping. Maybe a different offset? I think the 1 piece front axle is better.

The winner of the stock at the CRC race ran Rm and beat several MM cars. So yeah, its not like if you go MM you will just start winning.

What exactly would you use in the rear besides a clamping hex?

I personally think the clamping hexes have been the best thing we've had in years in cars. The old pin style was too old and frustrating.

I am running mid motor in stock at our local track. I am ready for the new B5 rear motor to compare my times. I think when all the mid motor hype slows down rear motor will be the way to go for most tracks. I have both mid and rear motor cars on order, plan to pick one and stick with it.

I assumed he was refering to the durango style hexes with the retaining pin outward. I dont think he was saying no hexes. I know with the tlr22, they take advantage of different hex widths in the rear for tuning, that can more easily be done with clamping. As to why they have a solid axle hex and a clamping in the front is beyond me, assuming same offset. Maybe for pretty bling? Also, when I first say the kit front axle and the bearing sizes, I started to wonder if the TLR22 fronts could be used in conjunction with the tlr22 axle and maybe some shims. Why? For those coming from a 22 platform. I doubt it could work the other way without messing up the offset. Easier to shim wider than do narrower.

I might be buying one of these....

I hate not having the newest and latest. Love my serpent, but I will never know if this is a better more capable car if I don't own one, right?

I am going to own a RM and MM car of the same company. So I need to see how the B5 performs so I know which company that will be. You may see a B5 for sale, or an srx2. Just no telling right now, it will take a lot to get me out of the serpent though.

I remember some driver from the NW always saying MM was never going to be good. Now RM is no good.... so weird. I for one am unsure what I plan to do with whole MM/RM. I am looking for easy of driving. Not cutting edge steering that requires me to make a million corrections per lap. If the MM turns out to be very forgiving and planted on outdoor watered tracks, then sign me up. I dont travel race, so I only need 1 car for 1 track.

Its mass confusion, drivers back and forth between mid and rear. I thought I was 100% sold on mid, but the more i read on the B5 RM just not sure, back on the fence.

Yea and I travel, but my home track is outdoor loose track. I have seen MM work fine, but in the hands of very skilled drivers. Dave Duncan, Jason Ruona, Paul Wynn, JR Mitch, Chris Veisins, in other words, not me, lmao.

RM for stock
MM for high end mod racers.

I was told this by someone that's super fast from JC.

Anyone else agree it makes sense to me....

The rm is practically extinct here.

Can't afford to buy 2 cars to do the same class.

Have to pick one or the other for me.
