The magic bit is highlighted. A properly geared motor doesn't overheat.

I was referring to the comment you made about the car feeling "soft" due to heat, not the pack. I was saying no, it's not heat. But really, it's not even an important issue anyway, compared to WHEN do I get my B5!?!?

Why would AE not center the motor?

<insert speculation> Because centering the motor would probably introduce a tiny bit of unbalance to the car considering the weight of the motor plate and spur assembly.

That could suggest brushed motors were actually not balanced left to right.
All very interesting.

Still looking forward to seeing and feeling this kit in person.

The motor looks more "centered" on the B5M than the Centro. I added the Avid centering kit onto my centro because it was more balanced on the scales. I believe someone else on the centro thread posted their numbers.

Default RM vs MM

As far as witch is faster, it seems at or local tracks mid is slowly catching on..they do seem to be faster mid corner.
Our fastest drivers are all runnin mid motors now but our stock class is still dominated by rear motor...With more time i think mid WILL be the way to go...top cars at our track are Centro,KYO,Losi,shuey..nice mix on brands here and not one car dominates over another...The fastest cars are the new out of box types with fresh plastic
