Anyone running cut gears in 17.5 notice an increase in power or lower motor temps? I have been running a set and I cant really feel a difference and temps seem about the same

9.5 LRP on the gas to do a big quad and came down a bit too nose low onto the last top, just a little short. The car became a shovel at that point and chunked a nice sized divot out of the landing. I heard a snap noise like when a B44 snaps an arm. Car tumbled back to its wheels. I couldn't see it was broken but knew something was wrong when it pulled to the right severely. The chassis was the only thing to break though. In stock, now it's not. Rebuilding my mod car as I type this. It broke right behind the front hinge block thru all that webbing. I have lawn darted this car a few times doing stuff I know I shouldn't have tried so maybe it was already weak or cracked. 30 bucks and its fixed.

But… there is slop in the bearings that the diff rides in. The diff moves laterally back and forth maybe a MM total, like maybe .5 MM slop on each side.

It's almost like the bearings in the Schelle kit are just a bit narrow.

Is this normal; is it possible the slop was there with the stock bearings and I just didn't notice it? Does anyone else have this slop?
I just used a few Kyosho shims on the diff outdrives to remove the slop. There's still slop on the top shaft but I don't have a shim that would fit.

I'm pretty sure that these are the shims that I used.

The car was MUCH better for me after going to a square pack. Felt more planted and easier to push.

How does Hartson keep the battery in the car? Velcro, double sided tape?
