Having trouble with front grip on a hard packed outdoor dusty track. Running the box setttings and using AKA rebars with the red inserts. Running in stock.

What would people suggest I try? Thanks

Yeah I've had to spring for a standard size servo too, a pity coz the Futaba I was going to put in is a real winner

moch8..... first thing I would try is to take out the little silver 2mm spacer that goes behind the front steering hubs.... pull that outter hingepin and move the silver spacer from behind the steering hub to infront of it.. this will change the weight bias of the car a little and put more weight over the front increasing steering and traction in front. it basically moves your front wheels back twards the middle of the car 2mm putting more of the nose of the car over them.

that should help a lot. let us know and if you need more help just ask.

I thought people have been opening the servo case and routing the wire out the bottom. This gets rid of the interference issue.

First I would suggest trying an open cell insert, next I would try a softer compound. The last thing I would try is a different tire.

Think a B5r would perform better for your track conditions ...

Thanks for the info on the motor, btw, is there a reedy esc that will run the 8.0 reedy motor?

After some searching, it look like XP might be the what I am looking for

Hi Rickster,

I assume you are talking about the caster block spacer in Step 6 of the manual. Funnily enough I accidentally built it that way in the first place. I am considering running a softer front suspension for more weight transfer to the front when turning in.

Hi Wild CHerry, you could be right about that but I haven't treid a MM 2WD before so I thought I'd give it a go.

moch.. ya go to the green front and try that too..... I have mine all set up for outdoors and its really good. But I like a very aggressive car so I know my setup isn't for everyone.. have you done the rear end mods for more traction? either taking a mill off the front of rear arm or using b5r rear arms? I also use the 30deg. caster block as well.

if your indoors or a hard outdoor track with traction then keep the heavier front spring and also go to a white rear spring.

Inline shorty lipo was no good. Switched back to Hartson's inline setup and was dialed again. Would not recommend wasting time on the inline shorty mod.
