i had amazing grip with b5r front arms, b5r front tower, and b5r rear arms reversed left/right tonight. now i just need to keep my pistons from blowing out the eclips.

is anyone shimming the 'space' out of the stock pistons? i tried this -- but i think i over did it as 3 of 4 blew the eclip right off tonight ..

That's not something you need to do.

Looks perfect! The shim is for the TLR users that may need it if they have a long topshaft. Sorry we left that out of the instructions, will fix it next time.

Have the Hard front end , arms & nose plate.

Adding the Hard rear tower & arms tomorrow.
Still can't get the Hard front tower.

Leaving chassis brace & tray plastic.

Wow, where do all my electronics and wires fit? Dropped right in the RM but with the MM, not so much. It's a bowl of spaghetti.

And, installed hard front camber, steering, RM tower, reg flat arms, and hard rear hubs and tower. Can't wait to drive it!

I had a pretty good run last night with my B5RM on medium bite indoor. My best run to date. I am finally getting used to their dirt and how the traction changes. I did some tuning to my car and now I love it. I though maybe a MM car was the way to go, but i have my RM car doing everything I want. In my qualifiers I was able to knock down 5-6 laps in a row in the 19s range. The "fast" guys are doing 17-18s. I wont be that fast any time soon. For now, I would like to get all of my laps under 20 seconds, but there are always a couple cars on the track making sure that does not happen lol. The main was UGLY. terrible start and a terrible finish. my last lap was actually good until....I lost my mind 10 feet from the finish line and lost a position. I qualified 17th out of 28ish cars and finished 16th. My main was a train wreck, and I know I can do better. As you can see the times in the bmain only had a range of separation of about 6 seconds. So competition was tight as always, one crash and your down 2-3 places. Also, I dont care how my wiring looks, lol. I will fix it, when I fix it. Oh, and I am "leigh" on the sheets

Here is some video of Humpty Helms running the current layout at W3. Used my new cell phone and it didnt come out as good as I would have liked, but you can at least see the layout. Humpty went on to win the A amin in 17.5 buggy. He was pulling mid 17 second laps I think. enjoy

Lol, I tried to run it under the pack, but the pack would not sit flat, and I didnt feel like having my battery wear through my servo/transponder wires. So I just coiled it, ziptied it and ran it down the right side of the car to better balance the L/R (). j/k. I was concerned about hooking the battery up backwards, so I rigged the esc power wires so I cant mess it up, by looking it back to the correct post and zip tying the center to hold them. Not pretty, but functional. And my wiring is the least of my issues. I need to drive better

More paint woes...

So is it suggested to "rough up" the body before paint? I have never done this and have never had any issues with paint peeling until now. Last night I was mounting the body onto the car. I push a little on one of the flared sides and noticed the paint peeled right under that spot. Upon closer inspection, I also noticed that the paint is peeling under the Velcro strips I use to mount the body.

I cleaned the body prior to painting as suggested and used polycarbonate paint so don't know what's going on. Maybe the B5 body just knows that I don't care for the cab forward design so it's rebelling!

The paint looks like it has some serious crashes on it already and I haven't even run the car yet! Sad!

NO spaghetti !!!!

did not bury the sensor wire
Felt its something you need to change easy because the wire can fail at worst time.

Facing car

Esc middle, reciever on left, cap on the right of Esc

Put servo wire in front of receiver & ant on left side of receiver.
Switch on right back corner of servo

I use faskolor paint and dont have those issues. Also, I dont rough them up. I dont even do complicated paint, I just like the way an airbrush lays down the paint. I tried some lacquer based paints and it literally all cracked and fell off.
