I had the same issue. It would not fit at all, even with flexing. But then I thought, hey its terrible for stock, so I put a triad in mine. Problem solved.

Side note: I saw Amain had alum top shafts in, so I placed my order, then the shaft immediately went on backorder. Might have got the last one I am only going to run the tlr 22 alum bones, AE alum top shaft and the triad for lighten drive terrain. IMO anything else is just going too far and too expensive.

I kinda want to do the Triad or Schelle slippers but I got so many spurs that will only fit the Associated setup I have not bought either. Think Im gonna try the old 2 pad slipper with the drilled holes

What is the deal with the 6mm ball studs? You'd think they could get these in stock. I need some of those and want the 5.5mm tool as well. AE has had that listed as in stock for weeks but I'd rather not place an order from them as well as AMain or Tower as there are a few other, non-AE, things I need.

For when I don't use shims in locations that normally call for shims with an 8mm stud. Hmm...I thought the inner camber links were 8mm but it looks like they are both 10mm. I guess the only place would be the ackerman plate...so I can just grind some down. Thanks for making me pull out the manual again.

Now tell AMain or Tower to get the 5.5mm tool in stock. LOL

amain carries what they want. I am not sure why they dont want to carry some of the new AE stuff. I might go with the lunsford shock mounts to I can use a longer 5.5 to remove the shocks. For now I just use the T wrench that comes with the kit.

IMO 3x10mm stud should go everywhere but the ackerman. 8mm is fine there. I have a link to some 10mm studs that are in stock for less than amain if your interested.

I'm good. I was thinking about the inner cable mounts but they are both 10mm. So removing the 2mm shim and the screws come out the bottom. I'm going to get some 8mm studs for those locations as I've removed the shims.

And will all my whining I didn't check Tower this morning...they had the 5.5mm tools. And the B5M front arms and towers so I picked up a set of those too just in case I want to give them a try...or ransom them for gold LOL.

Just wondering what setting is the equivalent to the stock plastic one.
I finally broke my plastic one about a week or two ago. I thought I had kept it, but turns out I threw it away. I asked Mr. Trimmings to verify something for me yesterday in relation to the ballstud height on the aluminum piece vs plastic, as he still had both pieces.

Basically, think of it like this:

Plastic with 0 washers = 0
Aluminum with short side up = -2
Aluminum with raised side up = +2

Example: I liked my inner rear ballstud height at 0 with the plastic piece. So I need to add a 2mm washer under the ballstud with the aluminum piece short side up to remain at "0" setting.

Hope that makes sense.

Till a ballstud snaps in one. The TLR has the vertical style and they are a PITA.

The TLR vertical ballstuds are awsome. Personally I can't wait until I can get my hands on some for the B5's too.
Love the vertical ballstuds

I would give the Schelle slipper a try. It is leaps and bounds better than VTS or 2 pad slipper. Best upgrade I have made to my AE cars ever!

Good Luck!
