I keep hearing if you are running stock and stock only B5R is better.

Is there any truth to that?

That's why.
Not true. 5mm bullets are becoming more and more popular as the batteries keep improving. Start checking around. Ur favorite battery company May still be using them...... Doesn't mean everyone else is and all the other batteries are stupid.

Do u just not like soldering? It's pretty easy to solder 2 connections. If u like to switch back and forth get adapters. Promatch Racing has them.

Not that there's any point to 5mm connectors, they actually have higher resistance than 4mm in the testing I've seen.

Yeah a lot of people tell me this also. I'm one of the few with a b5m in the stock class at our track.

I've heard this same thing but I struggle thinking these battery manufacturers would build these new bad ass packs and then put an 'inferior' sized bullet in the new pack they just developed. That defeats the idea of making a stronger pack. Surely they have the ability to test a 4 against a 5 but I've seen things that make less sense than that. I have no clue either way but it doesn't add up to me, I'd like to see several tests and their results.

Anyone seen the D inserts available? It appears everyone is sold out.

5mm will carry ,more current. But in stock 2wd, you wont see an advantage. Just like using 10awg wire wont be noticed. In 4x4 sct and ebuggy applications, the 5mm bullets would be nicer. The battery companies dont just build packs for the 17.5 guys, lol. Also, the resistance difference would not be noticed by most all of us.

Actually there is. It's simple. The 5mm bullets can handle more current. Due to the larger surface area. This is more important with 4wd vehicles that draw more power.

Think about basic wiring. The more current the heavier the gauge of wire. If u don't use the large enough wire for a heavy load it creates excess heat. Then melts the wire. There is a formula to what wire is used for a given load. It's not just a random guess on what wire size is used.

If u don't want to use 5mm bullets don't buy the more powerful batteries.

Resistance is more of a efficiency rating.

This makes no sense to me. Stock is all about momentum and corner speed. Thats what MM is built for. RM is more point and shoot. You need motor to be able to start from a dead stop every turn. Of course that is an over generalization but you get the point.

DG.... you are right on... although some of these guys are obsessed with the weight of the car and it has to be as light as possible and that's the only way they can be fast.. but you are right.. corner speed and momentum are huge....
I know people will disagree with me, but I don't care how light a car is , if you cant drive it fast the whole time your still not going to win.

yes the rear motor is lighter, but with a good setup the mid motor is faster because of what you said.. corner speed and momentum.
