yeah, last weekend my "hot laps" were close to some of local fast guys, but those pesky wheels are sometimes pointed upward, so it was a wash, lol. I do like the b5 Rm though. It is still a work in progress, but I forgot how much steering I lost with the TLR car. One thing is for sure, AE cars rarely lack steering, lol. If your car is pushing you are doing something pretty wrong.

lol...

funny thing is I smoked the stock and mod buggy classes outdoors last weekend with my mid motor b5m.. and my car isn't the lightest either..lol
my times were actually faster then 4wd mod.

with running the square battery my buggy comes in at about 1600 grams.

wildcat.. once you get your midmotor I have an awesome outdoor setup for it.
One of faster guys at our track runs an X factory X-6 cubed. That car is so dialed that an 8.5 doesn't feel like enough motor. I might end up going mm.

yeah believe it or not, we actually do race when the temps are below 70 deg!

But guys ran the Centro, Kyosho, and Losi cars all last summer too. It's all preference and setup.

Does it push going in or coming out? And is the rear too locked in?

This is the Mid Motor thread -- there is NO WAY your car is under 1500g at running weight (battery, tires, body).

I'm assuming you have a RM B5. If so, just add 20-25g of weight somewhere.

Going in it pushes bad. Coming out is fine. As for the rear it seems good

Yes it's a b5m. And yes that's running weight. There are pics on here posted on the scale

Splking
When ever you reduce weight the car will gain side traction but loose forward traction.

Explains the push you feel.

Ok what do you think I should do? Would changing the shock set up help to 3x1.4 pistons?

Say you need to work on the front tires.
Either a different insert or wear them end some more.

So I have decided that I want to get started racing sooner than later, so I am going to pick up the B5 from my LHS instead of holding out for the B5m.

It's been so many years since I have raced, that I am more or less a beginner again and probably wouldn't notice a difference anyway. Not to mention the price is $20.00 cheaper! I can use the extra $ to buy a couple of practice days!

yes if this car is pushing then ya something is bad,i don't like a light car but i don't like a heavy car either, granted i only have 4 packs on my buggy so far but pushing? nope if anything i have to much!! I'm going to try the battery in the rear (shorty) and see how that works,if i have a little push then I'm going to add a wee bit of weight up by the servo.

I cannot see how you can drop 100g+ on this car. When running a shorty pack, the average weight is around 1600g. Scale is off or something.
