This is the main issue with the internet. Everyone has an opinion, and everyone thinks their opinion matters. Even worse, everyone's opinion is displayed equally. There is nothing wrong with having an opinion and stating ideas, but when you state ideas as gospel, and then change your ideas 180' constantly, nobody takes you seriously.

In general more weight is more stable and less nimble (the whole physics nonsense.) Further, more weight over the drive wheels provides better grip for the driven tires. That said, I always try to run a lighter car because it is more nimble and because it usually has less tire wear.

I do agree that taking off weight on the car is not as important the right tires or driving around the track without crashing.
But guys on these threads love to have the latest and greatest tips and tricks.

But RC Tech is a unique universe where a guy I put multiple laps on can give others and myself set up advice.

Before you take a guys word for gold check there racing resume, you might be getting advice from a guy who would be lap traffic for you.

The closest Track (AKA HB Race Way) to me is horribly bumpy and traction is non existent so getting rid of weight there does not work.

It's the best cause it doesn't need a dual plate slipper, chassis brace, adjustable Ackerman, sway bars etc...

I prob shouldn't say that. There was a ton of good info in that thread as well as this one. The biggest thing is to realize that not everything works for everyone in every track condition. Tracks in one region can be very much differnt than tracks in another area. Set ups that work on high grip clay probably won't work on a track that's spitting up roost in the Midwest, or when sprayed with water turns to ice. Be careful who you listen to (do they race in the same conditions as you) and don't choke on the koolaid.

1200 lb car. These teams spend $1000s on titanium, magnesium and carbon fiber. You'd think they'd want more traction.

Most are just switching to shorty packs for a easy 2 oz off total weight.

Of course where you add or remove would have a huge effect with handling as well..

I disagree, a guy could be better then you at setup but suck at wheeling a car. Hara could put multiple laps on his mechanic. If I need setup advice guess who I'm listening to.
