You can buy high quality x-rings (~$7.50/100ct.) from mcmaster-carr if you know which size you need. I think 006 works for most 1/10 shocks.

Drilling them out and reaming the ends makes a huge difference. At a very minimum, ream the ends out with a body reamer so they aren't dragging on the turnbuckle. If they're still too tight after that and grease, then drilling out is another option. Honestly, it was very easy to do though, but it would be easy to destroy them if you screw up [/QUOTE]

This:
The shaft size as some have said is garbage information. The size of the shafts are the same. They are not coated because the traditional coatings may be tough but they are not smooth. Through testing the team found that a polished shaft felt and performed the best. The issue with using the traxxas o-rings is the bore diameter of the v2 shock. The bore diameter has been reduced slightly for use of the new Factory Team o-rings and also better performance with the older red o-rings. Therefore to answer your question no the Traxxas o-rings no longer work like before

Should I be using the diff lube for greasing inside the tranny like the manual says or use some sort of white silicone grease i've seen people get from auto stores?
Thanks for the advice on length of ball studs.... As for the cups popping, I think I will try to drill them out.. I have the same issue on my 22-4 even after a good greasing and i hate hate hate it.
Not new to building/rc but new to tuning/racing. Built a scte 2.0, sct410, 22-4, and 2 scx10s within the last year so I know my way around.. Plus my old T3 back in high school
