I take it the vehicle comes with a 72T spur and not the 69 mentioned in the manual if I recall correctly for stock usage with the Reedy 17.5 Motor?

well you have more space in the b5M than the b5rm. so we can conclude, anything fits in a b5r, will fit.

all esc's are pretty small these days so unless you're using something giant you should be fine..

The ones I used were like 12-13mm long, but I would like to get some a bit longer to get like one more thread on the nut, you can see it barely gets to the nylon on the lock, but I have had no issues yet!!

Posted this in the rear motor thread, but figured I would put it here too since its the same. I used a 12mm setscrew and m3 locknut to secure the front axle. Some guys have had issues with the screws backing out and the wheel coming off, this should take care of that. Make sure everything is clean with alcohol or brakecleaner and use red loctite on the screw. Let the Loctite dry and then wipe everything back down and install axle into the hub. Make sure no Loctite gets on the bearing!!!

so..what is the real issue here? this seems to be the most talked about thing here and on fb. nuts fall off, crush tubed too narrow, bad bearing, axle too long or all of the above?

The turnbuckle didn't allow for easy adjustment so the wheel fell off. Sorry I had to.

Quick question about slipper clutches..

Is the VTS really that awesome? I remember reading someplace about people ditching it in favor of the 2 pad system. I'm thinking about eliminating a fraction of rotating mass in the drivetrain, but if the VTS is head and shoulders better I'll leave it alone. Thoughts?

Twin pad better on high traction, does not engage suddenly or ramp out on the jump face...

Triple smoother & better grip on lower traction...

Difference between the two is very small & subtle.

my bearings are fine, crush tubes no issues, simple screw backed out on axle. Front hex completely eliminated the issue...
