I am planning to run the Bfast caged thrust bearing, but I am curious about the Bfast diff rings. Are they worth it? Also, is there really any difference with the Bfast carbide diff balls vs the carbide diff balls in the kit?

Your welcome! I saw Brent boxing it up for shipment when i stopped by after work to get some help with my new 1/8th scale.

I also got to put some laps on a B5 for the first time. The owner was running the kit setup, and was a little neverous about me getting too frisky with his new baby.

Right now I pilot a TLR 22 2.0 for 1/10 scale, but have put plenty of mileage on the old B4.2.

The nee B5 had a great nimmbleness about it, not quite twitchy because if things started to get out of hand a firm application of the trigger pushed the weight to the rear and squared things right up.

The weight difference was immediately apparent through the controller. The TLR felt like a tank in comparison to this spry young pup. This may work to the TLR's favor on large outdoor tracks, but on tight indoor clay like at Beach Hobbies the B5 felt more at hope.

So with SF1752's B5 on the road, I counted only 3 more left at the shop.

I hope everyone enjoy's their new kits!

Is the B5 you drove much lighter in weight than your TLR? Was it under legal weight?

I havent weighed either buggies. My local track only runs mod classes, so weight really isnt an issue.

That being said the 22 2.0 is a heavy kit out of the box with all the aluminum option parts included. Significant efforts must be made to get it down to roar minimum.

My only impression of weight came from marshalling both buggies. The next time i have my tlr at the track with a b5 i will try to weigh them.

All the Bfast stuff is good, you really can't go wrong. That said, the stock diff setup is fantastic and doesn't need replaced in my opinion. The B5 has THE smoothest diff I've ever built, or felt.

Thanks. I ended up just going with the caged thrust bearings.

I am not understanding why weight is of no issue because you are running mod? Are you meaning that it doesn't matter whether the car is light or not? I mean the car still has weigh more than 1499 grams, but I agree that you want a little bit heavier car with mod. But Ideally a reedy SQ pack, or saddles takes care of that.
