+1 Always better to have a lighter car. Add weight as a last resort.

Decent battery! Several guys in my club run the Gens ace shorty and other Gens ace packs, my son absolutely loves his 7200 mAh. The only of their packs that I did not like so far was the 25C saddle, which totally sucked when running 17.5 turn. Their current product range is pretty good, but not much cheaper (if at all) than the products of the "cool" brands here in Germany; e.g. the soon to be released Team Orion 100C shorty will be available at the same price.

Back to topic: Does anyone know when the PL Phantom will hit the stores?

I prefer to use wegiht to get the left/right balance. I dislike weight for tuning. I mostly run 17.5 and dont want a car that weights a ton. Makes the motor hotter, makes the car sluggish, etc. There is soo many tuning options, I would normally try those first.

Don't consider the 87 other adjustments you could make to the car.

"Just add some weight to it, that'll fix it."

Awesome advice..

The only reason I would ever add weight is when my car didn't weigh enough, which was a common problem with my B4

What track do you race at? 702 ? What kind of lap times are you running now?

should fix , if the boys are around today I will get the set-up for you & post here.

As good as the b5r is it still shares most of the problems the B4 or rear motor designs bring.

So just a stock roller?

sure why not? Your new to driving buggy. So why not get the latest car that is overall more durable. The only thing IMO that is needed aside from the car is Ti turnbuckles. You can either get lunsford, JC or AE. The rest of the car is fine. If you break a plastic part and the alum part is available, just replace with alum. The B4 is not a terrible car, and if you already had one and were happy with it, thats fine. But if your going to enter a new class, why buy last gen tech. Plus the b4 is more fragile than the B5, even with all of its alum parts.

wever he also meant B5 over the B4.2 not the B4 car.

Buy the B5 as it is a much more durable platform and chassis over the b4.2

I couldn't agree more, LOL... I would love to race at TRCR just to watch Wild Cherry race, I picture him as the guy at the track walking around to the fast guys holding a sign that reads, "What are you doing, because your car is faster?"

No offense to him, but I take his thoughts with a grain of salt.

yes, I meant b5. I have been saying b4 for 10+ years, lol. Need to hammer in b5. I even say b4 at the track when referring to the B5, lol.

I like being the slow guy though, LOL... Every class needs that 10th guy/moving obstacle.
