Default B5 Build

I started my build and when I got to the ball diff. I started to put the little balls in the gear and noticed that there was only 13. one page with the part number shows 12 and the build page shows 14. What gives I only got 13 in the bag. Has anybody else had this issue with parts missing? What is Associateds customer service like to see what they are going to do about it.

Looks like we will see the B5m at the Cactus classic. After driving the B5 I was going to cancel my B5m order now I'm not so sure. Can it really be any better?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but FYI, bodies for the Durango DEX410 fit pretty good. Two guys had their new B5s at a local carpet race for testing, one of them with the 410 body. They did not race with their B5s - new, untested RM car vs. a MM car perfectly set-up for carpet does not seem to be a good idea no matter how good the B5 is - but both were quite pleased with the car's potential.

Default First drive with the B5

My B5 has been built since last Monday but couldn't get out to drive until today. Driving in 17.5 blinkey class and had to get gearing figured out. Got that sorted pretty quickly. I had it dialed the first time but had to check a few other combos to make sure. Had an on power push getting onto the straight away. Was testing a green rear spring and while it helped in a whoop section, it made the push worse so I went back to the kit rear white spring. Also increased front droop by unscrewing the shock eyelets up front a few turns. It helped with the on power push. Still need to try some other setup changes but this buggy is just so fun to drive. I must have put at least 7 packs through it today. Track was dusty and loose but my B5 was hooked up as long as I stayed in the race line. Even when coming up short on some doubles, the suspension would just soak it up and allow me to get on the throttle right away.

One issue I did have was the rear ball stud coming loose. I did not loctite them but will do so now. The issue is the front insert is plastic. When you screw it down tight the plastic piece deforms. Longer ball stud with locking rear nut is the way to go OR get another rear aluminum piece to run in the front. I may just go for those FT aluminum rear hubs when they come out.

The B5 is very strong. Had a few issues with some out of control drivers on the track. This thing took a few big hits and just kept going. I still puckered knowing there are no replacement arms available yet.

I got to drive a buddies B5 today at the track and all I have to say is wow. I'm not sure if he's still running the box set up but damn, the car is so easy to drive. I have a B4.2 that's pretty hooked when the track is at it's sweet spot and the B5 seemed a whole step above my B4. two things that really stood out were the way the car would soak up the whoops or when you came up just a little short on the small jumps and the way the car doesn't slap when you over shoot a large jump. Very nice car.

the "b5 wing" is the kit wing, so the wings from proline.
