Is there as much slop in the suspension as in the last generation?

Default b5 setup need advice

I am getting a Team associated b5 mid when it comes out and here's what I am planning on running...

Tekin gen2 rs/redline combo (8.5 or10.5? what would you recommend?)
spectrum dx3c radio
spectrum s6040 servo
proline suburbs all around? (if not what other tires)

Would you recommend a venom saddle packs or a gens ace shorty pack?(both 2s around 4000 mah)

my other two motor options would be lrp flow works combo or tekin rsx combo, what would be the best choice.(I run on a well maintained Clay track)

I could really use some help with making sure this car will work great if you have any other advice please share!

Can we get a pic of the other side where the cut out for the diff in the mid motor would be?

I jumped on this on on eBay at full price because the seller claimed to have 8 of them and the add said they'd ship same day, hobby town doesn't have any and their price was higher...they actually tried to sell me a B4.2 RTR they had in stock.
Seriously sorry to hear that. But you may consider that being the first guy on the block to have a B5 might not be as important as not being the first guy to get ripped off.

I thought it used metric tools?

Spend your money on tires and track time...

Oh I don't believe I will get ripped off. PCHobbies is someone's LHS but they also are a reputable eBay seller. I'm just not getting it as fast as I had hoped. I wanted to have it together before my next race day which is next weekend. Given the 108 mile trip to the track I only race every other weekend...and I'm about to be traveling a lot for business so I won't be able to built it soon unless I get it this week.

I should have pre-ordered from Tower or AMain.

Personally, i would upgrade the radio to a DX4S or a DX3R before going with an expensive motor/esc combo. They have a higher frame rate and it translates into a smoother feel. I'm hearing a lot of good things about the Hobbywing esc. I recently bought a Trackstar Turnigy 120A turbo esc and 5.5t motor from HobbyKing with programmer for under a $100 and power delivery feels smoother than my Tekin RS gen 2 combo but it takes up a lot more space and weighs more. They don't have much in the way of support though and no manual. Spektrum 6040 has worked awesome. Not one problem in two years of racing with it in my 2wd and it's fairly light. Battery wise it's really all about preference. Running mod doesn't require a high C rating like stock but it does use up more juice.

My LHS said the b5 rear motors are coming in Monday. Thinking about grabbing one but my c4.2 is doing so well. Why don't Amain and tower have them until late February?

They had them but have already sold out of the stock they received. The Feb date might be the next shipment coming in, or when they have enough to fill all pre-orders and have some stock left over for the website.

For those who have seen them in action, which battery type is being used, square or shorty?
