Let’s see some pictures! I’d post more of mine but I don’t want to flood the recent posts with my buggy

I assume you are using the kit body? It is probably the "tightest" body for the car, being very close to the chassis, especially around the rear. Any of the Jconcepts bodies are a much nicer fit, with more wiggle room in that area. I believe the pros used the Jconcepts S2 body at the worlds with their laydown B5M's.

Yes, the kit body was what I was using and it was definitely slim in the rear. I had one other body from that I got when purchasing the buggy (used) and it fit a little better but it’s cup up for a 3gear so the spur is exposed. I actually have an S2 body laying around somewhere but haven’t been able to find it. I was looking at the finnisher body because that’s what shapeways had in their website but no one has them in stock. I’ll look again for that S2 body and I’ll order one if I can’t find it. Thank you!

Dang, I read a thread where everyone prefers the Serpent mm over this! I hope that is not true as I just shelved my Serpent to run this. The Serpent has a plastic chassis, and had little rear bite, but I did take 2nd with it. I really hope all the work of setting this up is worth it?

Nice! I like the flo color of your paint and the blacked out windows, sharp! I want to see it with white wheels on it. You have a lay down on it?

I have been away from the racing scene for several years. Was a foreman for a construction company run by a total douche so I took my talents and went out on my own, and luckily have been super busy. Just finding time now to get back to racing. Last I raced buggy I had a Serpent MM, and have to admit that I loved that car. Easily best car I have run, period. Traded that car for a nib B5M FL because I was just more familiar with Associated cars. I just finished my (brand new, lol) B5M FL with a generous amount of mods and also hope that this car is better than my Serpent was. Next weekend will be my shakedown day at the track. Interested to see what I feel about this car and how it compares to my old Serpent, and anxious to hear your thoughts as well.

On the Serpent I made good time on it, but the slick stuff was tough when the track was wet. But for some reason it was fast. The rear end gave me a hard time, and Octagon tires helped a lot. I should have added weight to the rear, as the front was good to go. I hope to get this car(B5M) sorted out and moving fast.

I have white wheels And I’ll take pictures with those tomorrow. I just figured to keep mod and stock tires serperate by wheel colors but I may give that up. That buggy does have the laydown. It’s the regular B5m with a 8.5t motor. My other is a FL with a 17.5 and a regular 3gear.

I actually swapped the directions of the wires on the motor so now the extra faces inward instead of out
