Anybody think AE is going to come out with some new buggy springs to compliment the new Fox shocks? The SC5 springs look a little different.

I use the same as the stock size. Works fine, even though others will tell you differently. You musst use the puck inner "washer" on it though as a spacer when using the captured thrust.

I was using the complete ceramic avid captured thrust, without the inner MIP washer. the diff didnt seem to last long like that, even though Matt Olson said it was fine. SO you think the MIP inner washer with the AVID grooved outer thrust on the ceramic caged works well.

So here has been AE's business model regarding parts as of late. They sell them first on their site. Usually 1-2 runs of the parts. Then, later on Tower and amain get them. I am not criticizing that model, as it is probably a more profitable one. But if you want the latest and greatest parts, you need to keep an eye on AE's site.

the front springs have wide coils like the Kyosho truck fronts. In this picture it actually looks like they are using kyosho springs. notice the gold paint at the top of the spring

The white shrink tube is pushed to the inside of the spring (towards the tower).

yeah, people were pointing out the gold paint at the top of the passenger rear spring. Anyway, it looks like they have some new springs. The front are taller with wider coils and the rears "appear" to have wider coils also. This is what has sparked the conversation.

If you put out a 5lb truck on springs designed for a 3lb car... these are just spring options for the load.
