I'm running to tires that are popular on the track - hole shots and calibers. The track is clay with a layer of dust on the top, fairly bumpy as it's mostly designed for 1/8.
Is your slipper setup correctly?

Also check your radio settings (verify with your manual on proper end points, exponentials, etc) and how they are bound to the speed control. Time after time somebody asks how to do this or that, you tell them, they do it and then come back saying it didn't help. So you watch them run and/or then drive their car and you find out they have full throttle of the speed control at quarter trigger throw. It's like an on/off switch and no matter what changes you make to the car it will not get better, ever.

You gotta go to their website for what turn motor is the limit but I think you'll be fine.
Looks like a good unit at a good price

Any idea where I can find said settings? I bought used and don't have manuals or anything.

I've also set my slipper accordingly per YouTube videos, which said to set so that the front comes up more or less an inch off the ground when holding the wheels while hitting the throttle. Should I maybe try looser?

Self-admittedly I am fairly new to the tuning aspect of things. I run decent lap times but this is a weak point for me as a racer.

also, shift weight to the rear...the track you're running on sounds like it's more suited to a rear motor car

I'm not but for stock you should when cranking the timing, but get a proper fan brace, most use these 3d printed ones from shapeway-

so I bought the b5/m package when the b6 was announced for 200$ and I was thinking about buying the b5mce conversion kit, but I think they may lower the price a lot to get rid of the extra inventory, do you guys think it will happen or am I just watching them go?

Even at $89 it's still a crazy good deal. Amain might have a sale for 4th of July though.
