Please tell us which rule in the ROAR book or the IFMAR book says this cannot be done?

Me I'm not a huge fan of either, nor do I really disprove of either On the club level, I just want a different layout every month or two, and the option to choose different surfaces for the race weekend (have mostly indoor clay close by but my home track is outdoor hard-packed with dust), which isn't an option for a lot of people as tracks are disappearing

As for the Worlds, Euros, ROAR Nats, and so on, I think it should change every other event. One year we get to see them on blown-out tracks with loose dirt everywhere, next year a high grip surface, and every now and then a track with multiple surfaces because that stuff is awesome

I don't think there is.. The rules for 2wd and 4wd appear to be the same on tires But I'm not much of a searcher..

Part of the reason they're gravitating to treated, super high grip surfaces is that separate from the grip, it results in the most consistent surface throughout the event, which is important. There are rules regarding what maintenance work can and can't be done. Qual points helps to mitigate the issue of changing conditions but not completely.

That's because those rules changed some time back. There are some minimum measurements for some items (but not wheel/tire widths) and obviously all dimensions have a maximum. Thereby if it fits the rules you can run it. There is no rule regarding 4wd fronts on 2wd or heck, rears on fronts, anymore. (if your local track or event makes a stipulation then so be it as they are free to do so!)

Fronts have been narrower for a few reasons. One being drawn from the real buggies when originally copied. The wedging caused by the amounts of caster we run is also less than a wide wheel. Also if you have driven something with fronts nearly as wide as rears, the steering seems like a detriment as the backend is chasing the front or the car is screwing itself into the ground.

With the static weight moving forward i'm sure there will be some developments with the front wheels.

RE: efra video

a little too much on the cobble stone. I like variety and knowing that all around the world the surfaces ARE different, I have no issue with multiple surfaces. The layout itself would be nicer if it was a little more flowing. I can understand the carpet on the jumps. Some places just do not have material where jumps will hold together.

The Worlds are run on spec tires which are chosen from a list of options presented by the host. It's their track and they know what works decent.

Chico did what they thought they had to do in order to maintain consistency. That's what's required. Don't get me wrong. It would be great if we could all be happy with a track that changes by the lap let alone the heat race. Unfortunately nobody wants to go out knowing that by virtue of the heat they are in, that there's not a chance of them making the A or B. Why the heck would you spend upwards of $2K to fly around the world then..

anyways, can't wait to see the first kit locally because i'm really excited to see all the new adjustment gizmos and build quality.

man, that 5.5mm one is a must for me. Its perfect for getting the shock nuts off. My current 7mm driver works fine for wheel nuts. And I dont like the idea of alum drivers on something like wheel nuts that get cranked on. But I will get the little one for sure

Interesting it has a receiver tray. There wasn't one in the pictures. I guess it's for you Futaba types.
