well the reedy race is over and we can look forward to the sweet new ride. I expect to see a fair amount of car trading going one. People with Rm wanting MM and vice versa. The rumor is that AE "might" make a MM to RM conversion, but not a RM to MM. Why? Many more parts for the RM to MM and the cost might not be justified. Extra gears, alum chassis, side pods, front clip and so on. Might cost over 150 in parts to go from RM to MM, thus, it might be best to just buy the RM out right.

I have to agree. I suspect the RM version will be used for the RTR platform though. Like everyone said, RM is easier for lower skill sets and works good on low bite surfaces, like bashing. But yeah, I suspect racers will be going MM, and I am fine with that. I have a really good RM car and want to try the MM. But I am like a small kid jumping off the high dive for the first time, I am unsure of the switch. Words like harder to turning, requires more tire tuning and advanced driving skills required, keep me unsure. But AE popped my RM cherry in 86', so I am probably let them pop my MM cherry now, lol.

As long as pro drivers keep complaining about wanting outdoor tracks sugared and running only on high bite tracks, then looks like RM may be a thing of the past at the competition level.

Quoted for truth. When Cav and Maifield started running their electronics centerline, everyone started doing it without even knowing why. (Cue the internet experts telling us all how centerline electronics are the best thing since sliced bread or the stupidest idea ever)

Body
Sure wish AE could have made bodies available early so we could get them to our painters.

I've always thought there was opportunity here. Everyone knows that setup is all about the right tires. Maybe with mid, drivers have been handicapped by having to begin with the wrong tires for the weight distribution of the car and having to run a poorly balanced suspension to compensate.
The wide fronts on 4wd are to deal with the increased side-loads that the forward weight bias causes as much as driving traction. Adding weight up front does not automatically increase steering like a lot of people think. It adds load, which must be dealt with.

I can crash a B5M just as fast as I can my B4.2. I'm sticking with what I have.

"Monkey see, monkey do" has an ever-present place in our hobby. I don't think it's going to change anytime soon.
