Just like when Ae mentioned their 3 gear, I just call the company direct. Ae gave a date of Jan 5th.

Now I'm nervous to try it I have them in already an got a big cash race coming, guess I'll find out if i get better results soon

I would run either 2x1.6's all the way around or 3x1.4's in the front 1.6's rear or 3x1.4's all the way around. I run 1.6's in the rear if the track is smooth and high bite but if it is medium to high with a lot of bumps and stuff I run 3x1.4's in the rear but I always run 3x1.4's in the front

Yea most people run 3x1.4's but LHS didn't have any so I'll try them out and if it doesn't work I'll put 1.6's in

Default Reedy Motor Tabs

I just finished my B5M build and went with a Reedy 17.5T motor.

Out of the factory sealed box, the motor tabs/posts have a little play in them.

Is this normal?

I just put a small zip tie around the "B" tab so there is no way it could ever touch "A" or "C".

I was told by the LHS this is normal.

Thanks!!

Sounds fishy to me......I have several Reedy motors at home (Mach 1 and 2) and don't remember any of them having noticeable play in the tabs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all of the tabs connected to the sensor board? I would call AE and talk to them about it.

At the LHS, we opened one up and the tabs sit in a groove inside the non-conductive (forgot the word) material where they are then soldered to the stater (correct piece?).

We called Associated and the guy said they are designed this way so they dont break that solder to the stater as they would if they were completely rigid.

He also said they all vary in the degree they move, but I just wanted to get some feedback from the forum.

Thanks!!

I'm running 1.5 fronts 32.5 white springs, 1.6 rears 30 white springs and I run on a similar track to what you explained and the 1.5 really helped with steering feel. I like them and the 3 hole 1.4's

Anybody have a great high traction black groove indoor clay set up? I had cavs topgun setup and my car pushes horribly on throttle and some what off throttle. I put gullwings back on and its better but still not fast.

Cool. Sounds like it makes sense. Since it has come up here I'm curious and am going to check mine out and see how loose they are, just never noticed it before. I have been very happy with my Reedy motors, they are very smooth and have been reliable.
