Mine works just fine on non sugar tracks but I also tune my own cars rather than copying someone else.

Yep, *now* I see that. Don't know how much I believe the "less rotating mass" or how much of an effect it'll have. It's just one more part you have to buy. The more interchangeable the parts are, the better.

This change in rotation cause throttling up in the air to drop the nose of the buggy vs. braking? Seems like I remember something about that with the early xfactory cars when they used 3 gear transmissions.

+1 it wont be that much less rotating mass. they should have reused their current topshaft.

I don't think it will have a big effect on it. The biggest factor of attitude adjustment in the air is the rotating mass of the tires.

It does have a big affect on it. Braking in the air with the motor spinning the opposite direction really limits how well you can drop the nose in the air. Hated it when I ran my durango that way.

motor rotation on an mm3 is the same as the motor rotation on an rm3, so you'll be able to jump just as well with it as with your old b4.

my dingo mm3 jumps perfectly fine. I can get the nose to do whatever it needs to in the air.

Ah yes, I forgot that the motor plate was moved to the same side as the normal 3 gear trans would be.

Maybe overthinking it. The only difference I can see with the 3 gear is the pinion is driving the spur from the front of it rather than the back of it which does not change the rotation from clockwise to counter clockwise. Guys correct me if Im wrong. I would think you would always want the rotation driving down which engages traction in its simplest terms.
If I recall correctly the 4g mid still drives the rotation down not up.

no, a 4 gear trans spins in the opposite direction of the tires and a 3 gear spins same direction of the tires

There is no such thing as "down or up" when you're talking about a motor that is spinning it's shaft in a circle.
