As far as the tight ball cups go, the only way I could get mine completely free was to polish the ball studs and the ball cups. you have to be very careful when doing this though. You really dont have to remove any material, all you want to do is make both mating surfaces (cup & stud) very very smooth and imperfection free and they will be smooth and free as ever! Mine will not stick even when you twist on them and they dont pop off either. You still have to use some geedas to get mine off the stud. This process was rather time consuming but the result is perfect.

Thanks guys. FYI, I removed the servo shims after taking the pic to move the servo off the steering linkage. It does not touch it anymore. 1st trophy will be at RCHR's Grand Prix race in a few weeks.

Finally was able to assemble and run my B5M. I love this buggy! I've never ran a 2wd buggy before, let alone race at a track either. My first 2 times racing wasn't very exciting as I had the wrong tire choice. This past Wed. things got a lot better for me when I swapped over from Goosebumps to Square Fuzzies. The difference in rear traction was night and day. Considering I was happy just to be on the track in the first place I ran the fastest lap in the first heat, 2nd fastest lap in the second heat, and followed that up with a damned fine run for first place in the main until a ball stud came out 10 laps into the Main.
I had about 1/2 lap lead on everyone and was really in a groove. I use LocTite on all parts that screw into aluminum, just some crappy luck took me out of the race I guess.
I'd say I did pretty good considering I'm a rookie! I love this buggy!

You guys have any thoughts on caged vs regular thrust bearing/balls?

As far as the ball cups not being free I just ran my buggy and they are free i didn't do any polishing or squeezing
Yeah I bet you noticed your car getting better and better too. As those cups free up it will actually perform lot better. without shocks on it your arms should swing freely and not bind anywhere in the stroke, all the way collapsed and at full droop.
