On our clay track we use the softest compound tire available and grind them to slicks. In our case we like Hot Bodies pink compound or Pro Line M4. I use JConcepts or AKA medium closed cell inserts in the rear tires. For the front, I take a rear open cell foam, trim the corners just a bit, and shove them in the front

We have a rather high bite, indoor, clay track that we run on. I use Electrons (as do most of the faster guys) in Purple compound with the blue inserts that come with it. Liquid Wrench on them for the 2 or 3 packs and they break in nice and fast. After that, the tires just get better and better until they are completely slick.

I am still getting used to hearing tires that squeal.... lol

Mod guy here, who will be running 17.5 for a large race in our area (Spektrum Champs @trackside hobbies).

Curious if anyone has had any experience with the following shorty lipo. I hear the SMC packs are great, but they aren't due for another month

Other suggestions welcome.

These are THE Shorty pack to have. They can be charged at 5C+ without breaking a sweat. I loved my 80C versions and the 90C's are even better. Aeromodel stuff is excellent, much better than the SMC stuff. You do pay a little more but its worth it. I had issues with the couple SMC packs I had and I know im not alone.
