If your ESC is a juststock, try taking it out of touring car mode. Otherwise, it is a 17.5, power is limited. Are you direct wired from the ESC? Gearing? Timing? Rotor size?

17.5. Everything is stock as far as the gearing. There's connectors from the esc to the motor. No positive or negative timing. Esc/motor are both dynamite platinum. Should I try smaller gears?

Haven't used a heat gun but when I go to marshall my car ill give it a quick touch and neither the battery nor the motor is even really warm. Maybe a little heat but definitely not overheating.

Motors normally come with a more mild timing from the factory. You need to turn them up a little to get some speed out of them. By looking at that motor, I would guess you need to turn it up 2-3 tick marks on the motor. And maybe run 72/30 gearing to start with

Ok. Ill try that. And I'm assuming I need to change the esc? Or can I have a few degrees of timing and leave the esc in blink mode?

The esc needs to stay in blinky mode. Adding timing to the motor is perfectly legal.

If you get a used car, and you've never owned the specific car before, the SMART thing to do is read through the manual.

Oval racers.
Ok thanks- never been accused of being smart so why start now....

OK in the spare parts he sent me I found 4 of those pictured above, they seem to be all the same and are numbered with a 3.

The hole seems to be dead center.

Ok so swap out just the fronts to the #3 then see how she goes?
Just wondering if it's a subtle change or noticeably different.

Did you also adjust the spacing of the c-hubs? Again, the manual covers the adjustment, and what you need to change along with the adjustment to make the adjustment properly. Just read the manual and your questions will likely be answered.

Again, the smart thing to do is to run the car, then make a change, and run it again. That way you can really feel the change, instead of trying to remember how your car felt a week ago vs. how it feels after a change.

if you want to know what changing a specific part will do, refer to the Hudy Offroad Tuning Guide.

+1

Also, only make one change at a time...then run the buggy. that way you'll be able to tell what effect the change had.

after you get it set up and you like the way it runs...fill out the setup sheet. make copies of the blank setup sheet in the back of the owners manual.

lol. true...but dang man...a little harsh. still true though...and made me laugh a little.

the manual is very valuable over time. besides part numbers...the exploded views in the manual will tell your the easiest/fastest way to take it apart.
