Most people I know run a tekin rx8. I think they have 4300kv now, I use the older 4600kv.

Tekin rx8 gen2 with a pro4 HD 4300, for make sure you have enough power,if you are on a budget you can consider hobbywing motor/esc.

Default Hobbywing Combo is GREAT!

Great performance and great price!

If you go with the Pro-C2 Combo it comes with the SCT ESC and 4000KV 4 Pole motor!

4000KV 4 Pole Motor Link:

Well since its a slash, the Pro HD4300 I think would be over kill and too much power for a Slash 4x4

I would recommend using the Hobbywing SCTPro 120A and the Hobbywing 4000 4pole motor in the Slash 4x4. You can get the ESC for $85-$90 and the motor is $85

As for Lipos I would say atleast run a min. of 40C and 5000mah. The Slash is a little lighter then some of the 4x4 SCT's out there

Hobbywing SCTPro 120A & Hobbywing 4pole 4000, best bang for the buck and has tons of power.

http://www.falconsekido.com/products...t-pro-esc-blue $90 for ESC
http://www.falconsekido.com/products/xrm3656sd $85 for motor

Hmmm I think Slash Spurs are 52, 53 & 54

I would say start with 13T Pinion and 54T Spur.
You should probably have a couple pinions on hand, I believe Novak and couple others make or sell sets, that come with 3 pinion gears.

On the pinions make sure you get the right ones that fit motor shaft and the spur gear
I believe that the Slash 4x4 is a 32Pitch and the motor shaft on the HW is 5mm

Best setup ever for the money, and competes with $300 tekins. It's the tenshock sc411 ( or sc401 sensorlesss version ) with the hobbywing xerun sct pro. Its on funshobby.com for like 130!

Get the 4000, the 4700 would be too much for the Slash.

Also what size or kindof track do you run on, also helps, but the 4000 will be just fine.
