Default Tekin 17.5 gen1 vs gen2?

Wondering if there is enough difference between a gen 1 and 2 to to be noticed by a newbie going to race in short course stock class sometime in the future any input is greatly appreciated.

I ran the gen 1 Tekin stuff, and after switching to other brands, I noticed the tekin gen 1 stuff had a more ON/OFF switch feel to it. I have not run the gen 2 stuff but everyone RAVES about how great it is, and how much smoother with getting on the brakes and gas. I would like to test this theory, as Tekin Customer Service, and product support is amazing, and makes them a very desirable company to work with, and buy products from.

Mind you, the gen 1 stuff was still great. I never had a failure that was not owner caused, and even when I did Randy and the Tekin crew took great care of me right away.

The Gen2 is better suited for blinky or "spec" racing than the Gen1. Don't get me wrong the Gen1 is a great motor for a beginning racer. The Gen2 will make more power in the end though.

Default thanks

Thanks for the input. I think it will be a small Indoor half dirt half clay track I'll be running it on and I'm probably not a good enough driver to know the difference but again thank you for all your input and help. I could not find anything on gen 1 but tons of rave reviews on the gen 2 stuff.

My Son burned up a GEN 1 motor running blinky stock SCT, you can see the stator windings open when you open up the can. They run much hotter than the Gen 2 motors (which are AWESOME motors)
