Yes.

Minus the VTS slipper, and addition of Durango gear diffs and metal ring and pinions.

Though only after a tank took care of the short chassis cars. LOL.

(disclaimer: another joke people. Really need a font for that)

I think at one time Avid had been testing a alum chassis for the .1, might have been one of those, not sure of they had a avid logo on it or not.

I remember asking the kid who had the car that AE doesn't care if their drivers run a non AE chassis? He said nope.

Thats kind of dumb, if your going to be a manufacturer you need to run your parts. Its pretty disappointing that to make a car fast you need to tell your customers to go and buy durango diffs, and another chassis from an aftermarket company to be competitive. Leave the customizing to the customers in my opinion.

Running other manufacturer's parts on your car is dependent on the contract you have with said company. So lets say you have a 50% deal with Associated but a 100% deal with JConcepts. Then it is more acceptable for you to run JConcept hopup's then it would be to use the AE parts. But like I said, it depends on the print in your contract.

Not starting anything here, but if that were true the chevy small block wouldn't be what it is today with that way of thinking, imho.

We are running the b44.2 but have the wheelbase shortened up by shaving the rear arms and shimming them forwards 2.5mm. The avid chassis will probably be next on the list of purchases since it is suppose to make the car more stabil and easier to drive hard. This weekend will be the first time we run this setup on a larger track, we are going to the State Race at Leisure Hours hobbies this weekend and then the Plex next week for the Jconcepts indoor national finals.

the b44 series is competitive, it is just better with the other parts. I see nothing wrong with this, contract allowing. It shows that ae has some humility, seeing as they let you use other companies parts.
