lite weight ebuggy options and questions
OK planning on building a 2s powered 1/8 ebuggy. Picked up a cheap losi scte with the TLR tuning kit and a body. As for wing mount i bought the ten-t wing mount and front bumper (both very cheap at a main) now my question is how to convert to 17mm wheel hex's. I have seen the m2c kit however the hold down nut seems to stick very far out. I like what MIP has done so that is the style I would like to go with but they are to my knowledge not available any other options out their. The conversion kit out their seem to be very aggressive in pricing for what you are getting. Has anyone built one yet? Like to start a thread to talk about them.

You just roll about 3 more threads on the axle and cut off the excess threads on the outside.
Or , Just buy the MIP stuff. Eustice did a nice job on those

I emailed to tekno to see if they had anything and at this time they don't and don't have plans anytime soon. I will email mip to see if they will sell just the adapters. I imagine they will because it would be foolish of they to not sell the parts seperatly.
How are these buggys working out so far? Any durability issues? What kind of run time are these getting? What motor and battery combo is working well?

Well, if it's not mandatory that it be 2s, you should consider the 1850 kv version of the Tekin Pro 4HD motor or the T8i 1950 kv motor. With a 3500 mah 4s pack you should make a 12 min main with ease. The T8i 1950 kv motor is a little heavier but actually was designed for lighter 1/8th scale projects like yours. With 4s, you don't need 100C batteries. The ProTek Eco-power 4100mah 35C battery is only about $55.

I love the idea of these things. I think it should be a 2 cell class though, otherwise, why bother? You end up with a slightly lighter 1/8th scale buggy, great if you wanna run on a big track... but where I see this class being the best is on smaller 1/10th scale tracks that short course run on.
I ran my MBX6 on 2 cell with an HW 4700... Prolly the best driving e buggy I have ever wheeled. Even on SCT wheels and tires. It was a 6 minute car though. It would run 10 minutes to LVC, but after 6 it started to dump.
Anyway, run it on your short course wheels and tires for now. You will be surprised. I certainly was. I wasn't any different time wise between the buggy tires and the SCT tires. In fact, I may have been quicker on the SCT wheels and tires.

I am just shooting for 10 minutes on an indoor track. I have a few turnigy 4 pole 540 motors to try first hopefully they will have enough power and efficiency for what I need otherwise I will get the tekin. I have a couple 100c 2 s packs already that have very little use ( orange trinity, race prep ones) I think they are around 6000mah i also have a few thunder powers that are a bit older but very good packs. I was thinking of using some smc shorties chained together to make a 4s not sure how that would work out. Anyone try shorties?

I haven't tried shorties but it's done a lot. I believe SMC even sells a 4s short pack.

-I like this idea, I just put together a sct410 and tekno makes the kit to convert it to ultra light buggy. I am wanting to try it. The thing sure rips with 4300hd in it I was surprised first time I let it rip!!
