Hey there guys I need a little bit of help choosing some things. The car I was looking forward to getting was the sc10 4x4 or the tekno sct410 I drive everything associated all my cars so far are all associated. If anyone has had the tekno tell me what you think, Durability, easy to drive ect.... Same with the sc10 4x4.
Another thing I need help with is choosing electronics I drive orion but I have heard good stuff about the hobbywing and tekin systems. After everything I can't really decide what I want to get.

The Sc104x4 is a turd. Even Associated regretted the design. The Tekno is hard as nails. Just doesnt break. Responds to changes very well. I highly recomend them.

I have a SCTE 2.0 and a MIP SCTE. My brother drives the SC10 4x4. Out of the box the SCTE drives great and with fine tuning it can run at any track, the SC10 4x4 is a different story. We have changed everything we can and the truck just has no rear grip (loose), the only way we can get it to run outdoors is by adding weight to the rear of the truck. We have changed the ackerman with the exotek steering plate. Raised the rear ball stud and rear hub to change roll center. Changed the rear brace to add rear toe. Everything we do helps a little and all together the truck runs decent. By adding weight we have now melted the slipper clutch, and we had problems with the rear diff (fixed now). If you decide on the SC10 4x4 be ready to put some work into the truck.

Never drove the Tekno but its next on the list to get.

Tekin 4300HD. I have the 4600 pro4 and the 4300hd pro4. The 4300hd has lots more torque and runs cooler, it also sucks batteries. With the cooler temps I can run a larger pinion to match the top end of the 4600

4300HD is overkill. Just over stresses batteries. It has much more torque, but it needs the current limited to about 30-35%. Whats the point of getting all the extra tq if your just gonna limit it? Like supercharging a 454 then running a 1 5/8 exhaust and a two barrel.

It all depends on what you like and how you dtrive. I tried both the 4600 and the 4300HD and went back and forth a few times. I prefer the 4300HD even though my times are about the same, maybe a little wuicker with the 4300. It is not overkill and runs excellent in the SCT410. Yes the current limiter takes a little bit of the torque away but its only at the very beging of the curve, after that it's all out. The 4600 winds out down the straight, the 4300 is all out down the straight. Does it strain batteries? Sure, but so does the 4600. I have no problem running my SMC 7200 70C packs with either motor and if all it takes to run the big motor are some $65.00 batteries, sign me up everyday.

I also have the SC10 4x4. It keeps me entertained while my Tekno cools between races. Thats about all it's good for now.

Tekno SCT410, great truck for different types of track surfaces. It's extremely durable as I have yet to break anything on it after 2 months of racing and practice and a LOT of crashing. I think it would even be the perfect bashing SCT because of it's toughness. It's performance is just awesome, you can tune it to any track condition, and it is easy to drive (I'm a rookie racer). I also own a SCTE MIP Pro4mance truck, as well as 22sct 2 wheel drive SCT. Quality if materials on the Tekno is Superior to what the Losi's have and seem to fit together much better.

Tekno is great, super quality and durability. Another option for a motor is the Hobbywing 3656 4000 or 4700.

I had a 1.0 Losi SCTE. It was a tough truck but it drove like a tank. I want something a little more agile for this year. I am looking at the Durango.

I use a Novak activ8 and novak 2pole 4.5t 550 size motor. I believe that 4pole motors are way overkill. They have too much power that poeple tune them down and they are super inefficient. They can kill a lipo very fast if your not careful. 2pole 550 motors provide plenty of power, super smooth and not hard on batteries. I like my kit to be at its full potential and not dumbed down so I can drive it. I know people will post and say I don't know what I'm talking about but there were more then one post that said to turn down the current limiter. That takes power away which mean you are over powered or you can't control the power so why have it.

I do agree with it being hard on batteries but from what I hear some lipos can handle it just fine, also current limit only limits the bottom end for a very short amount of time, it curves"expo" it's way into full power smoothly rather then hitting the throttle and instantly putting all power down to the wheels, kind of like a slipper clutch, I run my HD at 100 EPA so I get full power and geared at 17 this thing is a beast, I did run my throttle EPA down for awhile but that's because I was getting used to driving again from running stock truck, if someone is always running EPA way down then I can see it as overkill, but it doesn't hurt to have the power there if its needed in the future

The current limiter has no effect on top end. It just controls how much current is delivered when the trigger is first pulled. Its a great tool . When I have a lot of grip , more current , less grip, less current. Some days my track will take 100% , other days its more like 70%. If I bought a system based on the 70% days , I would get killed when the track is taking everything you can throw at it .

In my opinion the Tekno and the Losi are by far the top two choices in SC 4x4. If Tekno has your eye, that should be the truck for you.

As for Tekin, they are a top tier company, you will not only have a great product but you will have service that is second to none. Hobbywing, they are the bang for the buck choice, but if you can swing Tekin, I say do it.

I enjoy the Pro4 4300 HD in my truck, along with the Gen2 RX8. I could not imagine a better setup, but you will need some top notch batteries for such a beast as that 4300. My 5 AMP batteries do very well for about 9 minutes, but they are not new either. I have on order some 7200 SMCs that I think will give me run time to spare. So keep that in mind as you put your package together.
