Shorty pack weights less than the saddles, you have 3 positions for the shorty pack. With that said I will be running saddle packs only. I may get the conversion so I can run the Reedy square pack.

Default Need some forward bite...

Hello,

I've got a KF. Run it on a hard packed, high bite indoor track. I can't get enough forward bite without the car swerving left or right. This happens even when I'm halfway down the straight with some forward progress. If I get into the throttle the car goes crazy.

Both rear wheels are free, no binding.

I run saddle packs.

Reedy 8.5 motor.

Turned the esc punch down to 1. Lots of negative expo on the transmitter.

I've tried many different diff oils. 1000, 3000, 5000, 7000 and 12500. All give the same behavior.

I even tried a ball diff from my K1. Same thing.

It's driving me nuts..

Any ideas?

Slow the motor down or add weight

I've only got a handful of laps on my KF, but I think the key to this will be similar to what folks have done to get their RB6's to hook up on dirt. More rear toe and zero anti-squat or even pro-squat might help a ton. The U4160 kit would be my starting point.

Mount the rear shocks behind the arms. you will need the Aluminum Rear Upper Transmission Mount U4171. You can do it without but its a lot easier with it.
I finally got my KF on the track Friday. I lowered the diff to 7,000, and just learning to drive it.
I think it drives more like a 4wd buggy than a 2wd buggy so its hard to make yourself stay in the throttle when your brain is telling you should be off the throttle. I have a few more goodies coming and have a few things to try this coming Friday.

Lengthen your rear link and lower roll center.

Reverse the front arms, more rear toe, softer rear springs, raise the rear.

This may be a car too aggressive for medium traction clay but I always like a challenge. Mine is still mostly stock except a tad more rear toe, shortest wheelbase and 2k diff oil to help it rotate. Feeling like the chassis is too stiff for clay so modified the upper decks like so. So far the car is staying pretty clean on track Real test is next week when the tires are broken in and I strap in more power.

the key to medium grip is going with the ball diff and medium flex arms.

anyone know where to get the front bottom plate at? Amain does not carry them and I have no idea if it is in stock at discount RC. (I craked mine today after tagging a pole mid-air!)
