Alright....here's a gearing question. I'm going to be running an 8.5 turn motor on a medium to slightly large track. I have no idea what spur and pinion to use. I've been a touring car guy and this is my first intro into 1/10 offroad. Any help would be much appreciated. If you gentlemen need more info let me know. Thank you very much.

I guess my question is, will I be able to hit a favorable gear ratio for an 8.5 motor with the stock 83 tooth spur. I have a variety of pinions so I'm not too worried about that. Again, thank you fellows.

I would start with a 23 or 24 pinion and adjust from there to get the best speed for your track that's with in temps.

The best way to figure that out is to calculate your FDR now and see how to achieve that on the KF.... I think I ran a 26 on a 7.5 tho, depending on your track you might need a bigger pinion than I ran

I ran a 26t pinion with my speed Passion 8.5 the last time out with no problems, it would be a good place to start and go up from there.

How do I run a shorty with this car? I don't have saddle packs and details on the shorty setup seem to be very scarce.

They're on order. I'll just have to wait and pounce on one when availability strikes. I must say....this build practically fell together. I'm really liking the quality of this buggy and can't wait to get it on the track. Very impressed Schumacher. Thank you again to all who assisted answering my questions.
