Default Best buy 4S LiPO?

Hello 1:8 ebuggy racers,

What 4S battery do you reccomend as a best buy? I don't want to spend big $$$ anymore on big brand batteries, because in my opinion they are not worth it (let's not start a discussion about that). But I do want a good battery since I am competing at a fairly decent level. I have used Turnigy 6600 and 6200 A-spec as 2x2S configuration so from that perspective I don't want to loose any power compared to those. I am satisfied with them but I'd like a 4S pack for next season? I am eyeing Turnigy 5000 20C (nothing hardcase higher than that???) due to the price and the positive things people say about them, also eyeing Gens Ace and SMC but they don't really compare pricewise to the Turnigy. What are your suggestions, based on your experience?

Viciousteknology has an awesome 6500 60c 4s for around $80 has better power than a 100c pack I have and also outperformed a $200 you know who's pack I borrowed. While it doesn't have a roar sticker on it I could care less-if I was racing a roar race I wouldn't run the 6500 anyway.

I liked the gens ace 5000mah 40c I had. Tons of power and run times. Don't get the turnigy 20c. I used it 3times and the case cracked very bad. There are tons of other people that had the same issue with that lipo.

Just got this battery last week to try out and was really happy with it. Had great power and good runtime. Looks very well constructed as well. No long term use yet but looking good so far!

I have been through Gens Ace 5000s, 4 Turnigy 5000s, and 3 Turnigy 4500s since 2011.

The internal wiring of the batteries simply do not last as long as other higher end batteries.

I would spend a little bit more money and buy a battery with bullet connectors, such as the Reedy 4600. I switched to that a few months ago, and it's simply better than anything else I've ran. I got it for 90$ with a coupon. Buying a 120$ battery once is much better than buying three 45$ batteries in my experience.

Yeah I'm super happy with this pack. I've been racing and practicing with it for the past 3 months and its been fantastic, low price and fast shipping. Viciousteknology lipos givem a try. Just got a few 2s packs as well (I've been bitten hard by the 2wd buggy bug) great product.
