I was lucky enough to be able to visit this track last Friday while on vacation. Definately some of the nicest people I've met in the hobby.

Any pictures of the new layout?

Socal losi: thank you for the kind words. Please come visit again with your gear.
Braindamage: No pictures as of yet. For the most part the layout is pretty much the same. The straight is the same, turn one and two has not changed at all. The next section has only changed in this respect, four large jumps are in the same exact location, the fifth has been moved slightly toward the center of the track to jump over a lane. This fifth jump launches you into the pit where you climb the hill in the opposite direction. after climbing the hill you go down the other side (formerly the up side), down under the section of the cross-over section. This now leads into a wash-board, into the first set of little triple-double combo. From here, I think the track is pretty much the same.
Lap times seem to be faster, event though there are not much differences in the center line distance. There is more clay in the surface, and it has been packed pretty hard. With some additional precipitation this week, it should pack in even harder. The only real advice I have is to set-up properly when jumping the cross-over. I seen some 1/8th that came horribly close at full tilt... There was only one race day on the track, but the surface is a lot tighter now than last Sunday.

We would like to thank everyone that helped make the Summer Slam a sucess here at RCE. The rain ended in time for us to kick things off at around noon with ideal track conditions, albiet with some serious labor that went into making the track a truly racable surface. We were able to get in three rounds of qualfiiers and the mains without having to worry about track lighting. We run bump-ups with the lower mains, and handed out two trophies to the B main truck winner and he also took home a trophy in the a-main.
We look forward to the next trophy race that we have and hope that we can attract an even bigger crowd, and less precipitation.
