What hop ups come with the losi that don't with the tekno? So your saying a truck that cost $70 more is a better value? Haha the tekno is dialed and most losi users are switching to it for good reason IT'S A BETTER TRUCK! And it doesn't wear out as quickly as the losi. Sorry it's just my opinion.

Not a Losi vs tekno post but you don't need hopups for the tekno. Alu hex's and Alu servo horn (not many sc or 1/8 you wouldn't do that with anyway).
The chassis is the 1/8 buggy narrowed to sc width with 1/10 axles. No need for bling Alu parts. They include a rear hinge pin holder in Alu but its not needed IMO as the plastic 1/8 part will hold up fine.

The driveline has been improved on the Losi from what I've heard, but a 1/10 motor on 2s is no match for a 1/8 driveline on the tekno.

Both trucks are fast on the track but coming from a Mugen conversion I chose a 1/8 based chassis.

Okay you're right.

Does anyone else have experience with the MIP and 2.0?

I would go mip between the two, badass upgrade that handles amazing.

But really I'd get a tekno, awesome truck, great handling and rock solid out of the box. ( and I've definitely tested its durability so far ). I bought spares and have used none! The steering and responsiveness is amazing. Well worth the cash!

Well ive only driven the 2.0 indoors on carpet but now driving the MIP it handles similar . I drive the MIP outdoors and lii said coming from the TLR 1.0 its crazy diffrent ! Lots of cornering speed takes off faster jumps level for the most part . Im using the TLR 1.0 towers and the losi shocks pistons etc.

One thing with the MIP is it doesnt have as much forward traction as the 2.0 dued to the ESC not jammed up close to the steering post which i dislike about the 2.0 . But you can move the ESC up Front as much as you can on the MIP just use longer ESC wires.

As for the hop ups in the 2.0 kit from exprience not everything wares fast especially the HD pivot balls and actually the diff gears last quite a while.

So like i said i would get it you already have a hop uped 1.0 anyways.

The Tekno ive only driven on a carpet offroad track so i cant say how they feel on dirt.

If you already have a hopped up 1.0 just buy the bce h1 chassis and 2.0 battery tray. Best bang for the buck.

I edited my post way before you decided to quote me. I realized I was being a bit rude so I removed it. I would appreciate it if you did the same!

Oh and the second post that says nvm was an accident I accidentally quoted myself when I ment to hit edit so I could remove my previous post

I'm in a similar boat... i'm running a TLR chassis, TLR upgrade, fresh HD balls all the way around, king headz motor and center... i'm looking for the future of the truck and the next best thing.

the local shop/track owner usually runs a MIP but last week had a 2.0 in trade and decided to run that. He said it had a little less steering on turn in and flew a little nose down compared to the MIP... but it had more on power forward and lateral traction.

Why not go BCE hybrid chassis? you get 2.0 lay out and can use your 1.0 parts. Only thing you need is a battery hold down.

I have the hybrid chassis and when compared to a 2.0 the only thing that is different is the side guards, and I still use the older style of servo mount. The 2.0 servo mount doesn't have a enclosed box for the reciever, its more out in the open.

Edit: I just looked up the bumb chassis, Yea skip the 2.0 or MIP kit and pick up a BCE hybrid chassis and battery hold down. Better layout, reduced cost, plus you can keep all of your other upgrades. Only thing BCE recommends is the 2.0 braces for the truck, I run the extended KH brace but I did have to modify it to work.

A major consideration would have to be the overall condition of the 1.0 you have now. If it is still in good shape then your best option may be to just MIP it to lighten it up and change the weight distribution. If it is showing general wear you may be best to retire it and upgrade to the 2.0

This question has a fluid answer.

As for the tekno thing, I have not put any time at all in one, but I know that many folks will upgrade an SCTE with tekno parts at great expense. I can only assume a ground up rig from them would be top notch.
