Gearing advice

Last night at the loft I was having trouble getting over the new double just before the start finish. If I come out of the corner before straight and hit it just right there was no problem, but I did not have that feeling where I could just punch it over the double, some of this may change when the track gets run in a little and I'm getting more traction, but I don't think my gearing is correct.

I'm running a t4.2 13.5 75t spur and a 30t pinion, I thought I was over geared already, but my motor is 116 on average after a run. Any advice on getting just a little more punch?

Have you tried timing in the motor? Or boost on the esc? That does seem high for gearing but maybe just try going up a couple of teeth. Especially if its only getting about 116.

30/75 seems geared a bit tall for a 13.5T.

Yea I was running 30/75 in my t4.2 with a 17.5, there was a jump I couldn't make so I went down to a 28pinion and was making it everytime, if you want more bottom end gear down a couple teeth, since you're already running cool temps the lower gearing will run even cooler so add some timing

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I am going to put a 26t in there and see what that does. I see now why I have this setup is because the first motor I had was a 17.5 and I did not pay much attention to timing after going to the 13.5

Sounds like you should invest in a few more pinions. If you can't get the right gear the other stuff is moot.

I agree, pinions are a must, I keep from 19-30 for just it case, u can always get the car to handle just like u want, as far as punch wise
