Trying to find out what I have?
#1

Well for some reason I wanted to get back into RC cars. Well about 16 years ago my cousin gave me all this stuff and I really never got in RC cars at the time but I went digging and got the box out but I really don't know what I got and I'm trying to figure out. I got pictures I'm posting with this. If people can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I'm 30 and want to have some fun got a family now and need new hobbies. My names Zac by the way. It won't allow me to add the pictures from my iPhone? How else can I do it?

Looks like a late 80's early 90's tamiya car, an FM radio and a ac/dc charger of some type from all the small pics. I can see a RC10 motor plate and some spurs for a gold pan in that tool box. You would be lucky if any of it still worked or if you could even get parts for it. you may be able to get a couple bucks for it if you can find someone who collects the old cars and electronics.
May be better off starting fresh with a RTR Traxxas or something like that, Rather than spending all your time working on a 22 year old car which will ultimately just discourage you from getting any further into the hobby.

It's a Tamiya Striker, also sold as a Futaba FX10
The lowest caliber entry level car of it's day.
Not worth putting any money into to run.
No value to collectors.
Dump it on Ebay and buy a new rtr.
There are a few things though.....
That 240 motor and that orange race prep are worth a few bucks, check ebay sold listings.
That gold rc10 motor plate looks new, if it is, eaby it too, that if perfect can net some good money.
Hope it doesn't bum you out.

Does it even work anymore? That stuff is probably so old and brittle that even if it does work it will break and then you have to throw it away. Sell it and just get a super cheap rtr. Maybe a traxxas bandit or something. It would be way more fun. Or just stick that thing on your shelf as a conversation piece. You wont be able to use any of the stuff you have either so you would have to get a new batt and charger too. But those are pretty cheap now.
