building the car is a large part of the fun for me, plus normally kits come with spares, my Durango came with a large bag of extra screws even!

Personally I look for kits only, I do not buy RTR and only do used cars if its either a good deal or I'm being cheap.

KIT

best way to learn, a pleasure to build, you can use better screws or other components directly if you want, don't need to re-check everything either..

are you asking because the mbx7 eco comes as a roller?

I wouldn't buy a factory assembled car and I generally avoid buying used too. I can't trust it to be built properly unless I do it myself.

When I first started the hobby I was really picky about having everything brand new, now sometimes I settle for lightly used electronics for the right price from only forum members, ebay sometimes(not Craigslist), as far as my kits go, I will never purchase used, nothing like breaking that seal and the new rc scent

no self respecting racer wants an rtr/roller.

the only rollers i have ever bought were either only available that way (abc genetic) or vintage cars that can't be bought new.

normally i will pass on a vehicle if it's not available as a kit.

kit. building it is fun. plus with half of our luck you could be winning the race of your life. and something built by someone else in a production line fails. the few cars ive bought used ive stripped completely down and rebuilt. there are some people doing nasty rigs out there. lol. sorry i dont trust anyone to build my cars

Kit, because I like to run different pistons and oil in the shocks. I like to add ceramic ball bearings to the diff. I like to blow out the oil in the wheel bearings and use teflon oil. Lube the hinge pins.
