I run Tekin 1900KV T8 or 1950KV T8i with a RX8 ESC . But I also get over 10 minutes run time with my MBX7 nitro on a tank where others struggle to get 7 or 8 minutes. There is no substitute for throttle control. Spinning tires and sliding around, while fun, does not produce your best lap times or fuel economy.

This past Sunday 2 new Mugen MBX7ecos broke both shock shafts in half after landing hard on one of the big jumps. My new Mugen broke a pillar ball right at the ball. After inspecting it look defected. It was replaced. I am a little concerned about the shock shafts though.

I wonder if the M2C shock shafts would give better durability?

Not unless M2C has developed a metal stronger than steel. You hit another car head on at speed you will break something. Feel free to test your full size car's durability in the same manner.

It could be that the Mugen shafts are too brittle. I have broken exactly one shock shaft on any of the other 1/8 buggies I have owned. I have seen a few Mugen shafts break in person, and now others on here seem to be having the same issue. That makes me think the Mugen part is weaker than some others.

My Mugen MBX7 Eco arrived at my door yesterday, and i put all my electronics in and had it ready for a road test in three hours(way to go M-Spec). The car feels like it is good quality in your hands and i can't wait to run it, i will be racing it Sunday.

If it were a softer alloy; it would bend. GOOD steel doesn't bend, it breaks. Did you ever bend a drill bit? It shatters. But the results end up the same, either a bent or broken shock shaft must be replaced. Stop wishing for an unbreakable car or you'll end up with a Slash where every part bends and flexes and springs back so the basher can jump it off the roof of his house without damage.

I own a hobby shop and I sell a lot of parts for every brand, including Traxxas, But Mugen is as bulletproof as anything out there. I've owned a MBX5, MBX6, MBX6E(2), MBX7, and the MBX7 Eco. I don't ever recall breaking a shock shaft on any of them. But if I hit something really hard at high speed and only broke 2 shock shafts, I'd be very relieved.

Raced mine for the first time last night and i couldnt be happier with it. I ran my best race ever. I never touched the setup out of the box and i was running the exact same times as my tekno but i was much more consistent, and felt like i could push the buggy a little more then my tekno. Like others have said, make sure you go through the whole buggy and lock tight all the necessary screws. I missed a couple and sure enough they came loose in the main.

Im not sure what the max dimension is but usually any one will fit, it depends what battery you want, you can spend a little or a lot, i would talk to a hobby store owner for advice but a good Battery is a Trinity Titanium 5600mAh, 14.8v, 4s, 50C Deans, Racing Li-Po Battery.
