I just bought a kanai 3 with chassis braces and front and rear shock tower upgrades,top p5 engine and jp2 pipe, novak syth receiverand airtronic 94358 hi torque sevos on ebay for $400.00 is that a fair price It looks in awesome shape.
I'm looking for set up sheets for this buggy to kind of get to a starting point
Also the p5 what should the temp run at? Its states about 2 gals through it when can I expect to replace piston and sleeve?
I was thinking about running 40wt in shocks and I have 3k and 5k for diffs?
I'm very excited for it should be here by weekend I also bought an m8 and novak module so hopefully it shows up intime to race sunday at track
I decided to do this instead of upgrading hyper 7 rtr

There's a standard Kanai 3 set up that works almost EVERYWHERE, with only small tweaks needed at really radical tracks.

Try this & you should be very happy:

Front
60wt associated oil, stock springs, stock pistons
Shock mount inside on arm, middle upper row on tower
+1 toe out
5K diff oil, standard gears (not LSD/TCD gears)
22-deg caster hub carriers
B-Blocks upper and lower

Center
7k diff oil, standard gears
48t spur on all but the largest tracks

Rear
2k diff oil (kyosho makes 2000)
40wt associated oil, stock springs, stock pistons
Shock mount inside on arm, middle upper row on tower
-3 toe plate
2-deg. anti-squat (stocker is 3-deg, which works fine but the gold 2 plate is better)
Wheelbase in middle setting
Stock camber link setting; try lower hole on rutted or slick tracks.


This set up will make your K3 feel dialed everywhere.

So is the rear tcd diff then?
Also the person i'm buying from built diffs right as directions state,so where are the tcd diffs? Also what fluid do they take and why would I not want to run them? If they are what do I need to order to make them standard and how much usually does it cost?
Also the top p5 engine what plug should I run in it brand and type? i'll be racing form anywhere in the mid 80s to the mid 50 to 60's in fall?

1) The TCD diffs come in the front only on the K3. You need the standard diff gears, cross pins, and outdrive pins. Ask someone at your hobby shop and they can help you...they're the same parts as found in the center & rear of the buggy. You're looking at only about $20 worth of parts.

2) NO!! The TCD is not used in the rear. Don't use them at all. They take the red TCD diff oil, just toss it. Stick with standard diffs and run 5000/7000/2000 diffs from front to rear.

3) For the P5, use either the McCoy MC9 cold plug or the O'Donnell OD99 cold plug. You can use those plugs in just about any weather.

On the tcd diff, why not run that diff whats the problem with them?
Also do I need to have diff housings or can I use the same ?
Do you have part # for all I need?
I found some on e bay but $40.00 witrh shipping!!!!
My local hobby shop does not carry kyosho anymore?
On the shock oils I could only find losi is that ok?
