NEW TRAXXAS VEHICLE RELEASE

It does seem overpriced for a brushed stampede 4x4 with slash wheels and tires. I think Peter should have rapped the info. I've seen his skills at the TORC race parties...LOL

Keep in mind, the slash 2wd goes for $250. This gets you into a proven 4wd platform for right at $300. Anyone that has ever driven a 4x4 stampede will agree that the truck is very versatile and fun. Its also a very forgiving platform so anyone can have a blast with it.

Lol im not sure which one is worse. The fact that Traxxas thinks this truck was a good idea. or the fact that they just dropped the XO-1 to 700.(Which is where that car should have strarted in price.)

Traxxas seem to be be making a gradual spiral into the world of mass production RTR. Their marketing team has obviously seen an opening for quick sales to bashers etc rather than spend money on research and development and keep up with any race orientated companies.
This is not such a bad thing since they do offer great deals for people who just wanna bash and/or go fast but a couple of years ago i thought they were advancing in their short course and truggy style sales,Interesting

Traxxas learned many years ago that RTR basher stuff is where the money is at and not full blow racing. They must be making a ton of money as seen by sponsoring those TORC teams and drag racing teams. That takes some serious amount of money so apparently Traxxas really knows how to make money. With the economy tanking its funny that Traxxas is thriving. Whether you like this new truck or not they will sell a ton of these.

didnt get a chance to do anything to it....put some zero offset sc wheels on it to see how far in the wheels could get (stock wheels are a slash 4x4 offset)...it goes noticeably further in....with some trencher-style tires on zero offset wheels and maybee a clear body painted one-color, i think it will look the way that I want it....

That's what it looks like from the perspective of the invested hobbiest but most of Traxxas' customers are first time buyers. They don't know how many iterations of a vehicle there have been, just that this "is the one". Nothing wrong with that, I'd rather see guys buying these instead of video games.

Have you ever tried to drag your friends into the hobby? They usually don't like the price so they buy the biggest POS they can find and then when it breaks on the first run they're finished.
This vehicle helps bring people into the hobby and keep them there.
