A little background on me, started with a rc10gt and a rc10gt2 back in the day, left the hobby, and came back 2 years ago to a 8ight 2.0 truggy, and then made the big jump to the 4 5ive-T's (I have a basher, a racer, my wifes racer (I can get her to the track occasionally, and thats GREAT), and a spares 5ive-T for my ride.

Notice, nothing electric (okay, my son has a 1/14 8ight 4wd, hes 4 and needs to get into it, but hes mostly driving the sc10gt now), back to what I was saying, nitro or gas, always have, always will.

Then I moved to Phoenix, and its REALLY HOT here 4-5 months out of the year, and although fear farm has 1/8 and (some lame 1/5), the ticket is 2WD indoor. So I had to get a electric car, Most of my list is losi for a reason, so I watched the 4.1 and 4.2 kick the crap out of the 22 1.0 (hard clay, indoor) mostly because I could see the setup was wrong, (over steer, bottom out and chassis bounce on every jump, sliding, etc, etc), and I read about this car (22 2.0) and I pulled the trigger. I've been dragging on a lipo electric 1/10 for some time, I bought a RS PRO / Redline 17.5 Tekin package (TEKTT2131) about 2 months ago, for a good deal < 300.00 and its been sitting, waiting, for a gas/nitro guy to play with.

Then I see the Gen2 RS and gen 2 motors, I spent about 5 minutes wasting your time explaining where I come from, to simply ask:

The RS pro / 17.5 TEKTT2131 is still returnable, should I send it back and go for the TEKTT2422 (Gen2/17.5), I plan on racing novice and the 17.5 seems to be what the RTR come with and is allowed in my novice/beginner class.

My 22 2.0 is due in a couple of days, and I can return the TEKTT2131, so, I am going to bug you all, and ask, keep or change, I plan on staying at the track accepted 17.5, so its a matter of PRO or gen2 on ESC and rev 1 or rev 2 on the 17.5 redline?

THANKS in advance....

John, I can appreciate your love for the gassers!! They are my favorites to run and race. I also have bought the 2.0 kit for indoor racing (also have scte and the mini-eight). I bought the rs gen2 and 9.5T motor system....my two cents....there is nothing wrong with the rs (obviously) but since you have the option of returning I would return it for the newer technology and greater value (long term) of the newer system.

+1 return the rs and get the gen2. The gen2 motors are better as well

Return the rs combo and get gen2. I assume you talking about w3. Anyway, yeah I had b4s turning inside me also there. I shelved my 22 after racing it there. I did ok with it, I just felt like a 400lbs turd. Hoping the 2.0 is better. Also az it pretty heavily domitated by the b4. maybe the 2.0 will shift the numbers

Yep, know about the old setups but as far as caster blocks go, it's been said that it's mostly a clearance issue limiting steer travel.

i always thought the losi was a big turd and just looked unbalanced and inconsistent,so i was persuaded and picked up matt trimmings old car,,,,which is far from stock, took it out for practice on a med bite track and i was fighting the car in practice, trying shock positions and different tire set ups,i ended up going back to the way it was when i got it and ran 1 more practice before race time, still not where i wanted it....qualifer one starts and i do my warm up lap and i was like wtf this the same car? it was hooked up and hooked up good! ended up 3rd ,2nd qual say way...car was hooked up and ended up pulling the tq on the last lap..the main went bad so i wont go there but car is dialed

i raced it the 2nd time wed night, won my 1st qual and won by 11 secs,2nd qual i won by 9 secs, ..2 times out and two tq's im very happy with this car,its smooth and consistent and handles the bumps way better then my worlds b4 ever did and its alot more stable...very happy running the 22 now

My kit is coming this thursday...can anybody recommend gearing for it? I'm running Tekin Gen 2 9.5T motor with Gen 2 RS speed controller....thanks. The track is a small to medium size track...medium to high grip.

* READ THE MANUAL - there's a suggested gearing chart on pg.31

Speaking of gearing is 35/70 for 17.5 right? That seems really high. Guess I should try it but was just going to ask before I tried it.

70 35 gearing is perfect for the 17.5 and I even have 20 degrees of timing those turn motors like the high gear.

Curious as to how my 1.0 with exotek rack will work with 2.0 castor blocks n spindles.

My 1.0 is too new, don't wanna dump it yet, thinking I can upgrade blocks/spindles/arms/hubs

I did when I was assembling. 11.5 is not listed and I was wondering if guys went with the stock spur and slipper set up or mod because its right in between both listings.

Gearing in 17.5 is motor dependent and track dependent.
