So why are people moving to a shorty over the saddles and then adding weight to the side of the shorty? The saddle packs are about 90grams heavier. Is that too much weight?

Default after market water fall brace

Who is making the water fall brace that let's the shorty pack fit inside and touches the motor. It has a big hole cut out for a fan to sit on it.

I just made a small tweak to it to give more clearance to the motor tabs. I also added a stock replacement waterfall with a fan mount.

For me it wasn't so much the added weight.
With the shorty pack we are able to add the weight where we need it, keeping the majority of the weight in the center line.

That's what I thiught. But then I saw that guys are adding 20grams on each side, basically outside of the centerline. The only thing I can imagine is that the weight can be more concentrated to the front or rear.

That is correct. With saddles you have almost too much weight, and it's spead out in the wrong places.
You also have a different chassis flex charactistic with a shorty vs. saddles

What are most of you running for trailing spindles for MM? I want some aluminum ones and see them offered in 4 (tlr1075) and a 2 (tlr1073). For the price I want to get the right ones, the stock plastic ones have worked well, just have broken too many.

I don't run stock a ton, but when I have, I run a Schuur Speed V3, 38-42* of timing, and geared 29/69. It ran great at Surf City and I was able to come home 2nd out of 110 with the top 3 all running Schuur Speed V3's.

Call Pacific Coast Hobbies, they have them. 310-530-7127. They'll take a phone order and ship it out, probably today.

Maybe someone else will correct me....but I don't believe those are 2.0 spindles....I think the offset from kingpin to Hex is more on those....1.0 geometry...
