Run whatever you have more fun with

I was just answering his specific question about the specific track. We all run MM in mod, at pretty much every track.

Trust me, I didn't want to go back to RM to run stock, but I found out just how necessary it was from experience...
I hear you and thanks for the reply. I think alot of us WANT to make mm work in stock and know that its best to just run rm. Not to fight it searching for a better setup or that something I just havent tried yet when you know your old rm car would be ok

Well, AE (and MIP) just released 3 gear transmissions for the B5M. I think this might be something TLR drivers will be interested for stock class on their car as well.

Hey guys,

I just got a TLR 22 2.0 for very cheap, however this will be my first build and I've only driven RTR kits in the past. This is what I've found so far, and I'm trying to stay on a relatively low budget. Please let me know if there is anything you would swap for around the same price. Also could you let me know if this stuff is compatible? I just dont really know what im doing and I feel lost!

Castle Creations Sidewinder SV3 motor/ESC combo 4600 kV - $110
Savox 1257 servo - $67
Spektrum DX2e Radio System (transmitter and receiver) - $59

Does this stuff look good? I'm trying to get into racing, but I dont have a ton of money to blow.

Also, I am totally lost when it comes to the motors...should I get a higher kV? I have a bunch of 2S LiPo's that I will be using.

Thanks a lot in advance for everyone's time and help.

Thanks Frank. Have you ran at SCVRC?
I'm going to stick with RM for stock motor. That way it will be easier to swap my 1.0 electronics onto my new 2.0
Which setup sheet would you recommend me to start with?

I'd find out what classes their running at your local track before getting a motor/esc...they may have an open class and a stock class or maybe just an open class. However, that seems like a good list to get started for a budget. I'm sure other people will be able to help out you a little more than I though.

Ok, luckily my local track has a lot of classes, including a Modified Buggy that just specifies: 2WD Buggy, 2s LiPo or 6 Cell and open motor.

Should I go up to the 5700 kV kit? Its the same price...I'm just not sure which one to get...the Castle Creations Sidewinder kits come in 4600, 5700, 6900 and 7700 kV. Which one do you think?

Thanks again for your help!

Sorry double post...

Yes, my local track has open motor for buggy 2wd

Do you think 4600 kV or should I go for 5700 kV for more speed...luckily they are the same price

I would honestly go for a 17.5T stock motor if you're new to racing. I've never tried this motor/esc combo but it's within your price range:
