Drove a 22 2.0 Thursday at my local track and bought one that night. Can't wait to get it going. I haven't done 2wd buggy in a long time since my BK2. Looking forward to getting it going.

Any ESC's and motor combos you guys suggest? It'll be ran in the mod class.

How about for stock 17.5 class racing? I was debating between these two systems

Tekin RS Gen 2
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDHNY&P=7

and

LRP Flow Works Team
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXDYHU&P=ML

Sounds like both are really good systems, but I think I'm leaning towards the Tekin. The track I'll be racing is an indoor clay track.

I've had great experience with the Hobbywing V3.1 Stock Spec ESC when running 17.5:

http://www.falconsekido.com/products...ock-v3-1-black

Paired with either a Trinity D3.5 (non ROAR rules) or R1 Wurks 17.5 and it is as fast or faster than anything on the track.

*I even accidentally plugged the battery in backwards once and despite sparks/smoke....it still works, and didn't even have to be re-calibrated (probably need to solder on new capacitors though)

I run viper vtx esc and 7.5 or 10.5 depending on track. Super smooth with lots of power and run cool. Also great support from team drivers and managers!

I put on a TLR cab forward body on my RM 2.0. The body is hitting the servo wire plugs coming off my Speed Passion Reventon R, and not letting the body sit fully down. Do they make shorter plugs, or 90' plugs that would help? Or could I cut the tray, and run the ESC on the chassis?

Does anyone cut the air vents out under the front window in the cab forward body?

I did on my MM car. I also mounted the switch for my ESC on top of the servo, so it sits right under that vent. I don't have to remove the body to power it on/off.
