The Traxxas Xrings are butter smooth, I switched them over this weekend while at trophy race and feel so plush and react faster. I did go up on oil wt as well. Worth then $5 upgrade

if you are consistent then you want the Schelle Chassis. it makes the car smoother but still able to be pushed hard. I also added the #5 Ackermann Arms which helped alot. I had the xray xb4 before this and wanted the d413 to be smooth like that but still be able to push it when needed outdoors since i use the xb4 indoors and the d413 outdoors. for me the Schelle Chassis was instantly better then the stock chassis even tho I liked the stock chassis.

I built my car from the box with the traxxas o rings. I read that people were experiencing air build up quite quickly with them which I experienced so I added the .5mm plastic washer that comes in the package of the o rings and no issues since. Just something to think about.

I'm curious about the Schelle chassis as well. Does anyone know the difference between the Schelle and what Ty is running at the moment? Are they about the same for length? I'd rather wait for HB to release an extended chassis if there was one in the near future...

it's 4mm longer than stock chassis. Which bring it to similar wheel base as DEX410.
personally I don't think it's too much difference at all. last time there's a chassis length change, it was B44.1 to B44.2, that's +8mm, and that's barely made a difference in the pro's hands.
Still, it's much cheaper than a stock chassis if you are considering replacing one.

*since the 2015 worlds will be on super high grip astroturf, I kind of think HB may come out with an official aluminum chassis. (even on touring car, aluminum chassis works better on carpet)

Hey Guys..may be back in the market to start racing 4wd. Aside from the metal gear diff, what are the key advantages of this buggy compared to something like a Durango or Kyosho?

How does the durability of the D413 stack up against the other cars?

Unless you enjoy not finishing races, stay away from the Durango. The K car is good but every last thing about it is EXPENSIVE. From what I have seen there are no 4x4 buggies that are as durable as this thing.

The Schelle chassis is probably one of the best upgrades out of the few I've bought for this car. It truly does make a difference. In a 5min qual I was able to knock 3secs off my lap times and be more consistent. You can drive it harder in and out of the corners, and jump more level or even. I also switched my electronics around when I got my chassis and when I threw it on the scales, all 4 corners balanced out great.

To me, I think the biggest advantage of this buggy is durability. I tend to make a couple stupid mistakes every race, and over the years with my ZX5 (ran the SP, then got the FS, then upgraded it to the FS SP2) I finished 80-90% of races. Arms, shock towers, ballcups, and rear camber link carriers were the most broken for me. I have yet to not finish a race with the D413. I have killed 3 parts, all in practice -
Front right shock cap - full throttle off a tabletop into a wall, still in the mindset of racing the 17.5 buggy...
2x right rear outside camber link ballcup - broke these back to back on a tricky part of a high traction indoor track, the second one broke almost immediately, I think the plastic had a void or something. The third one has been good since. Out of all the guys running at one of my local tracks (think we have had 8 D413's on the track at the same time) this seems to be the only part all of us have broken.

I know some people have broken front tower supports too, mine has been fine, even after some pretty bad wrecks. Local guy has bent 2 shock shafts.

I really don't miss having to lug around $200 in spare parts and having to order $20 or so worth of parts after every other race weekend.

On the national stage, Ty has proven that this buggy is a very competitive kit, and it is also doing very well locally all around the world.
