Hot Bodies D413 1/10 4WD Buggy
#8477
Well, finally broke a part on my buggy. Rear outside camber link ball cup. Put a new one on, broke it again in 2 laps! Must have got some bad plastic. Gave the 3rd one a pretty good test hit on the same part of the track, and no break! Should be good again for a while (I hope).

So just installed the exotek aluminum steering Ackerman. If you have not got the hopup, don't wait any longer. It took out a significant amount of play in the steering. Just be sure to not tighten the screws down tight as it will bind the bearings that come with the ackerman.

Qrio, it really depends on what you plan on doing. Are you going to race, or just drive the car around in your neighborhood and fields (bashing)? The D413 is a race car designed for use on a track. Things like tall grass and rough terrain will make driving a buggy not very fun. If you do plan on bashing, something like an 8.5 will be plenty of power. If you do plan on running on track, a 13.5 and a speed control that can add timing would be the best place to start. Start with no timing, then when you are ready for more power, you can add timing.
Driving on a track is much more difficult than just driving around in a field. Add to that a car that has way too much power and you have a recipe for frustration.

Here's some better advice, go to track in your area and watch the speed of individual cars.see one you like that fits your skill and personality then ask what turn motor they are running. I've always been the kind of guy that wants the 671 blower with NOS and I'll learn to drive it. Call me crazy, it's just my personality. Do you want a mustang or prius?
