I know that my video I just posted was crap footage... of the first few laps I had with my kit. but it's
here is a little better footage of the track, you can tell how dusty it is~
(sorry if you don't have FB, I didn't post the vids, and I told them to use youtube~)(look for the vid for the 2wd.) the 4x4sc, and 1/8
I'm running the 100k for now, and I didn't feel like I needed more steering on power.
The lighter weight center oil will help make the car feel easier to drive on a real rough track.
But if you look back a few pages there is a pic of a guys buggy with bald center lines on his front tires. As he throttled, the weight of the buggy transfers to the rear, adding grip to the rear, and lessening the front.... the center diff spools(unloads) all that power to the front wheels. and they spin like crazy because there is no weight on them and they are getting much more power. They balloon and the center line wears very quickly.
I'm running 20k/100k/7k
each kit's diffs (mugen, hpi, traxxas... not your D413 vs. my D413) behave a little different when filled with the same fluid...
(If I put 7k in the rear of my Mugen MBX6, it would feel like it was damn near locked... If I put 7k in the rear of my mini revo... it would feel like water. As an example, I run 50k/500k/30k in my mini revo. and for my mugen I'm at 5k/10k/2k)
So if you have another 3-diff kit, you can't always compare the same fluids, and expect them to work accordingly.

always remove the lipo from the car.
I have seen complete cars go up in flames while they where charging the lipo in the car

Seems like Tower has found some of the parts. Most of my first parts order is being fulfilled. A couple items are not being sent and still list mid May. Interestingly the part that I probably wanted most (the graphite suspension arm covers) was one of the ones not being prepped for shipment. Slowly but surely.
And this might be asked later, I placed my first parts order on April 2.

I am not sure what the issue is with asking if there is going to be larger spur gears available. Every company, including hot bodies, has different sized spur gears. Every 1/10 and 1/8 cars I have seen have an option to change the spur gear size.
Granted the kit is very new and at this point in time a different size spur gear is not available.
If a spur gear will not be available, then its a matter of going down in motor size to help with heat issues.
So it's either an option later to buy a $10 spur gear or to buy a $150 motor now.

Though the problem is he's not comparing apples-to-apples. Other wheelers aren't running 3 diffs, so their drive trains aren't producing nearly as much drag. Especially with the heavy oils people are running in that center diff. Which means the D413 would really benefit from either more gearing options, a higher turn motor, or a 4-pole motor.

I get why there is an issue with an optional larger spur gear. It would not fit. With the 72 tooth spur gear there is minimal clearance between the spur and chassis. Any substantial spur gear increase would not fit with the diameter increase.

This motor shouldn't be an issue at the local tracks where I'm located. Especially since no matter what motor I have, I'm still not as fast as the other guys. But at least I'll be able to ring my buggy for everything it's worth, and not have to worry about cooking the motor. Just a personal consideration...
