Hate to say it but this is like the TCX all over again. Problem is even when the car comes in, good luck on spare parts. Everyone got the TCX right when it came out but if you broke anything it was on the shelf for weeks waiting for spares. That went on for about 6-10 months.

As much as I want this car I think I am going to wait for the release (if it happens) and then wait another 6 months to ensure part availability.

It might be dead in very few places but at my track yesterday we had 10 entries on an off weekend. Usually we have 20 at least and 2WD Mod is picking up to the point our heats yesterday featured 12 cars. 4WD is FAR from dead. It's decline the last few years was due greatly to the fact that the many of the cars in the category were somewhat long in the tooth.

As with paintball, people get bored with their older toys and like buying the next new thing to play with. This is fortunate for RC manufacturers because it means turnover and they can put out new product with the confidence they will sell relatively well.

I decided to not purchase the car anymore. Went with a Tekno ET48 instead.

Will never say buying a Tekno is a mistake, but wow, that is putting the apple down and picking up an orange instead. Might have been your same money, but not the same kind of vehicle at all...

It was down to the D413 or the ET48. I will be running more outdoors this year, so the ET48 was the better option for me. Also I already have the EB48.2 and SCT410 so I can share a majority of the parts.

Its amazing how Tekno can come out with five racing kits in a matter of 2 years and even update some of those kits in the same period. All the while HB racing takes longer to come out with one kit and forget about updates. On a side note they coming out with a new 10th scale esc.

Tekno is awesome. This car is awesome. The big question is...will we see this car shipping in quantity with parts before Tekno announces a wheeler too?

Torrance,
Any update? I'm not asking for a date but you gave a timeframe around end of Feb. or early March. I just want to know are we progressing along and are on target or have any complication arisen that would push the date range?

Thanks

FYI
I just got my March R/C Driver Magazine in the mail yesterday and there is a full-page ad for the D413 on page 73.
The ad does not say when the car is available but shows part #11273.
