Its not rocket science WHY the Exotek spur seems louder according to you guys. Its Delrin which is probably a harder material than the stock HB plastic mix. Harder materials will always give a louder gear whine. Exotek makes top quality stuff and I would be very surprised if a machined spur had a less accurate profile than a molded spur.

When I ran Losi xxx cars years ago, they used to come with their yellow/beige Kevlar spur gears that had the same exact tooth profile as the softer Losi ones, but the Kevlar gears were MUCH louder--to the point where none of us ran them. I am sure they were fine--just the material hardness made them loud.

The weight balance has to be horrible with that setup. The ESC and servo are close to the same weight... And then you have a motor and wires hanging off one side.

Start with new Avid Chassis and Exotek center diff spur combo.

Add rebuilt front and rear suspensions.

Add electronics and Exotek wing mounts.

Rebuild shocks and add wing.

I run without the servo saver. I just found a servo horn in my parts bin that seems to fit perfect, cheap ProTek.

Ready to race, now to find the driver's zone that I have never been in.
Nice pic dude!

Thanks, since my driving skills are so bad, I have more fun building them than driving them.

Well I got into RC cars a couple years ago at age 67, probably a little late to compete with the younger guys. But I have fun trying. I make them better, they have to figure out how to get past me every 3 or 4 laps.
